Cyanogen 7

well, this 'splains the no bars: "Also, the 2.3.5 merge inadvertently removed the fix for signal strength display, so signal bars will also show 0 for now. These issues should be resolved soon enough." (jt1134)

Anybody know where ec09 radio to flash from CWR4 is?

And how to thank on XDA? id10t can't find :'(

Is there any way I can get swype back? And is there any way to link contacts again?

If you go to swype.com you should be able to join the beta program to download their installer and install it from there.
To join your contacts, you have to go into the "edit contact" screen. After that it should be an option if you press the settings button.

Makes my fassy fly. Happy flashing.

Do I have to do anything before the first step if I'm coming from stock ed05?

Will do! One last thing...If something happens or don't like it, how do I go back to stock?

You odin back with full DL09 and pit. here is what u will need. Put this file teamsbrissenmod.net/downloads/CI500_VZW_DL09_ECLAIR.tar.tar in PDA and this file in pit teamsbrissenmod.net/downloads/atlas_v2.2.pit
Make sure to check the Re-PARTITION box as well than just run. Next OTA back on up to Froyo. Than do whatever you want from there. You should be able to get yourself back to Com Rom

Okay...I am extraordinarily confused. I am on KangBang 2.1. Apparently so much has surfaced since then! I see cyanogen 7 and then a post here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...aked-gingerbread-ec09-full-stock-package.html.

I am always excited to try out new things but I don't know where to start!

My phone says:

Firmware: UKB 2.0
Baseband: S:i500.04 V.ED04
Kernel: 2.6.32.9
Build: SCH-I500.ED01

I remember flashing the KB 2.1 update though...anywho. Can someone give me some assistance? I never know anything about what modem to use with what. I usually just flash back to DL09 and get all of the OTA updates, which I'm about to do now. From there though, I don't know what to download. Too many choices to keep up with and understand the difference.

Any help is appraciated! :-D

Anyone willing to give insight?

Ok... here ya go.... DO NOT FLASH that GB leak. it has been known to corrupt and render useless your SD card. You will risk losing all your SD files (data, pics, videos) and then you'll have to pony up $$ for a new SD card.

What I suggest, for what it is worth, is to flash the CM7 ROM and see how that works for you. If at first there are issues with your phone, don't rush to flash back to stock. Post an issue and there may already be a fix for it.

Let us know how you make out.

Do you really need the pit file? I was under the impression that if you ODIN DL09, it takes care of everything for you.

I will try cm7 sometime this week when time permits. I've been running stock unrooted ed05 for awhile and ready for a change. Thanks for all the help!

If you're going to use Titanium Backup Pro make sure you only restore Apps and NOT system data. Froyo and GB system data don't play nice. Just restore "new and missing apps"

This has been a constant annoyance since I started rooting. What gave me the nerd-balls to try rooting in the first place was that everyone said to buy TiBU and it'll be ez pz. Then I soon find that it's "DON'T RESTORE APP DATA!"

This is fine, I've found that most apps are easy to setup again and the cruicial ones have integrated backup/restore. At this point I'm too gun-shy to restore anything at this point as it has always resulted in issues.

Current Question: I understand that restoring from say Froyo to GB could cause issues, but if I'm switching from a GB mod to another GB mod (say CM7 to MIUI) should there be any issues with restore apps + app data? (I know system data is a "no no") Just curious if I'm ever going to be able to use TiBU without fear of causing issues.

Still on the 11/17 CM7 and I've little to no complaints. The bugs are few and far between and everything is running just great. Not sure I have any motivation to try getting into "nightlies" till I hear that there are major improvements to be found.

While no major improvements, nightly 7 runs better for me than 7-17 or any other following release through 7-26. Just my opinion.:)

I just thought of more questions...sorry!
When I ODIN CWM, do I need to check re-partition and also add the pit file?
Do I do the same ODIN process like I did flashing CWM for CommRom, like removing the battery?

So I was going to update my cyanogen mod rom today but I was in such a rush to do it I removed the sd card before unmounting and of course it breaks.....so I had to delete everything off of it and now my phone says it's mounted and good to go. The problem is when I boot into cwm and try to a nandroid back up it says the sd card is not mounted. I also can't mount through cwm or even update cyanogen mod. What can I do?

I have always restored missing apps with data through TiBu and never had any issues. As long as you don't restore system data you should be fine.
