Cyanogenmod 7.1 release.

Sounds a bit buggy... Glad I haven't made the switch to it. I think I will stay put on Oxygen 2.3 until things are running a bit better ;)

New day, new batch of reboots...

Worked well for 2 days, and then today it froze and rebooted 6 times while using FB and GPS.

Going back to #131...

Normally freezes are due to kernel issues, reboots at times too.... Maybe this could be something kernel related... Anyone played with different kernels?

I didn't mess with kernels on the stable. But I can tell you this. Anything above a 1.2ghz overclock would crash my phone when listening to music. Watching Netflix and some other things.

Also smartass v2 is funky. Seeing that's default it could be that. Anyone on it still try ondemand no higher than 1.2 and see if that helps.

I would recommend trying to run at normal CPU speed and once that is stable you can start pushing into overclocking and different governors. Process of elimination just like a beta tester ;)

Well I ran cm7.1 with matr1x 8.0 for a few days with no problems at all

After a couple days on O2 2.3, I revisited 7.1.0.1, and after doing a complete wipe of everything, it seems to be acting much better. Second day and no reboots. I did not try any other kernels with it. Paul627, I did take your advice, and turned the CPU down to normal speeds, so far so good.

Thats good... The CPU speed was simply a recommendation.. Most people in this game long enough know that kernels don't all work the same on everyone's device.

Trial and error is a common thing when running different kernels/ROM combinations until you find what works for you :)

I'm itching for a nightly. :) I'm gonna wait for the next one. You saw that extensive change log of which I know nothing about 75% of? Lol! Tempting.

Personally im on 7.1 with trinity TEUV and pulling down 20+ hours of battery, and everything i working fine. Though not every ones phone likes trinity TEUV.

But a freshly flashed CM7.1, or later nighty should be pretty darn stable after a full wipe...

I'm one of those...

I first did a cache/dalvik wipe and even used the provided dalvik wiper by Trinity and had problems.

Next I did a clean install of Oxygen 2.3 & TEUV and still had problems.

Issues were random reboots & device lockups. It ran good for a bit and saw some really nice benchmark numbers (take them for what they are worth) in the high 2000's, low 3000's which is awesome for Lazy governor & 880 Mhz. Unfortunately though I had to return to Matrix 8.0 or Netarchy :(

Maybe Morfic's next release will work better for me.

On topic of CM 7.1, I still haven't flashed this yet but I'm sure once things start looking more stable on the CM front I will be on board.

I'm running cm7 stable, everything is working, no issues for 2 days. First load, phone jarred /vibrated when selecting anything, so tried to go back to backup. Wouldnt recognize my backup in clockwork(?) so reflashed, and worked. Wired

So tried cm7.1.0.1 again, and everything is working great, smooth, no jars. Can't tell about the battery yet because ivembeen playing with it to see what all is in there. The only strange thing was service showed 1x in 3G area, went to wifi to finish downloads, turned off then 3G fine

I'm running their kernel, want to see how it does but wanting to go back to matrix and lazy which was outstanding. running 100/1000

Anyone see any pluses of their kernel vs matrix? Theoretically cm7 but had great results with matrix on everything else and just love what he does

Trinity does not play well with my phone what so ever. The only time I got trinity to work was with the MIUI version on MIUI; but, it actually made the phone slower and there was no overclock so it was pointless.

Re: updating from rc1 cm7

If you are looking for a link, use Rom Manager, that is there preferred way to upload everything.
Nightlies, Stable, Gapps are all there, not sure about Wallet. I went ahead and flashed that while I was at it from my sd card.

And it has an easy check system to clean for you rather than working your way thru Clockwork.

You didn't flash GApps - notice you have no Market, Talk, Gmail, etc. Flash the zip or manually download them.
