Dark Brown Leather Back!

Damn I love that look. I want to try it but I'm still looking for a minimalist bumper for this phone. Can't find a nice small rubber bumper anywhere. I'm not going to bother dying anything till I can show it off properly.

Looks like the dye may have puddled there next to the stitching for a little too long. Make sure you wipe it off from top to bottom, never side to side, making sure the cloth gets all the dye from the stitching area. Did you use the alcohol or water based dye? Can you post a picture of the dye bottle so I can see which one it is? Like Allen did, the best way to get it uniform is to add a dye coat everywhere except the darker area.

I actually really like the look and color, I might try and apply one more coat without hitting the stitching

Here's a pic of the dye and back

Can't see the side that has the ingredients but it says it on the other side whether it is alcohol or water based.

I've actually checked it and it doesn't say nowhere on the bottle or box. Do you think if it's oil based that it could possibly do that?

I might be oil based. When I applied it to the back, the next morning there's a oily looking film on it until I wipe it off. I'm actually gonna give it another coat tonight and stay away from the stitching. I like to get it a little darker. I'll take pics of the film it leaves before I wipe it off in the morning

I think so too, I just did another coat and here's a pic of it drying. You can see the film on it

When I clean it up and wipe it off with alcohol, the real color actually starts to show through. It's more of a Burgundy brown like this pic

Yes....I think it's alcohol. Never bothered trying oil. Too expensive.

Yeah it was sealed somewhat have to use acetone to remove it and open up the pores of the leather.

I took acetone to mine, too. It took an hour and a half but I didn't like the plastic feel. It was very slippery and hard to hold. It didn't really look like leather.
