Day one on Nexus 6 (Note 4 user)

One big issue for me is the camera. I read some reviews, for example, from the editors on this forum, and it was 100% unanimous that the Note 4 camera was better... Is there a HUGE difference between the two? Is it that bad?

No one has issues with battery? I personally get about 60-70% more use with OnePlus One

I am happy with the camera. It is not a bad camera by any means. The one feature that I missed is slow motion video, that does not exist on the Nexus.

Is note 4 camera better? Sure. But that does not mean Nexus camera is bad. It all depends on what are u using the camera for.

Well... The Note 4 does have a better camera... but just because a phone doesn't have the best camera doesn't mean its junk. I've had this for 7 months now, so I have a pretty good feel on the things it does right and where it has a bit of issues.

There are really only two areas that I think the camera could be much better.... the focus speed, at times, can be a little bit sluggish. Not out to lunch, like my old Nexus 5, just a bit on the slower side. My wife has a G3, and that sucker is like a metronome when it comes to focusing... sometimes, its like the Nexus 6 goes "Hold on, I'm going to make sure I get this right..." and it ends up getting it right.

And in darker conditions, it seems loath to set the exposure really high.

Granted, both of these issues are mostly software related, and primarly caused by the Google Camera. There are some third party cameras out there that show a marked improvement in terms of focus reliability, and some also are a little more willing to crank things open a bit more when it gets darker.

That being said.... overall, I'm pretty pleased with the camera. It takes nice shots with a lot of detail and good colors. The HDR+ mode is legit... yes, it takes a little bit to take the shot, the the results are often extremely good. That mode is the Google Camera's most redeeming quality.

It might not be the best camera available, but it most certainly gets the job done pretty well.

I like stock Android over Touchwiz. It's cleaner, faster and easier to use plus faster updates.

Final update here. I finally said good bye to my note 4. Sold it last Saturday. I simply couldn't go back to it after having Nexus as my main driver.

I started with a Nexus 6. After that broke, I didn't want to shell out up front and got the Note 4. A month with the Note, and as much as I loved the screen and the camera, I could no longer stand the lag. I also missed the stereo front facing speakers of the Nexus.

So I've been back on the Nexus now for about 2 months. I do occasionally miss the camera. I don't miss the screen since as someone else on this thread put it, if you don't hold the two side by side, the Nexus 6 screen is very good. But the camera is sometimes hit and miss for me. Currently using Camera FX Pro. Seems better, but would love suggested cameras for Nexus 6 that provide a better experience than stock Google.

In the same boat. Note 4 has not made it back into the lineup since the Nexus 6 started playing. There is no doubt that the Note 4 has the better display and camera app but pure Android on the Nexus 6 (or any Nexus) is a beautiful thing
The camera issue is not as important in my case since iPhone 6+ is my preferred shooter.
I am shocked at how low the pries are for the Note 4 though. I still owe more that I can get for it. This tends to always be the case with Samsung products through and I should have known better DOH! :-$
