Just got the ROM installed. Everything went smoothly. I did the VC update through LGMobile Update. Got it rooted and put on the custom recovery. After it booted up with the new ROM, my data isn't working (can't sign into Gmail to setup my account). And it keeps trying to perform "hands-free" activation. What do I need to do?

You could also try restoring this nandroid dump. It's a *stock* dump with special sauce.

Pre-rooted, no hands-free activation errors (AFAIK).

So I have not seen anything lately about the new vc radio being supported in this rom/kernel? Is there an update, or just be patient?

Just be patient still. It'll get done soon enough. Have you flashed one of the build prop fixes to disable the ota notifications?

I would just like to take the time to thank you guys for coming together and making this! Ever since I first heard about android and got a chance to play with an early version on my HTC Tilt, I have wanted an Android device. I got an Optimus S, found this forum, rooted and first installed ThundeROM, then found and installed Lego Rom. I have been running it for about 2 weeks now and love it! Just waiting on a fix to get rid of the update notification!

Flash beezy's fix in recovery and the update will be no more.

I had/have the same problem, I got past the hands free though i'm not sure exactly how I managed to turn on wifi and set up my account from there. I still get the hands free thing popping up every now and then I only realized it was an issue until i came here looking for a way to get rid of the popup permanently.

No i have not yet, i must have missed it as i don't remember seeing in the first set of posts for installing LEGO. but it looks as if Maxximus has posted the location so i will do that now.

Good, glad you saw his link. It hasn't been posted on the op as it's just a temporary fix (i assume).

Yeah, it's a temp fix and modifies the buildprops, but it gets rid of that pesky update reminder.

Does this rom fix the SD card issue? I have a rooted phone and I want to put the lego rom on it. But this SD issue is so annoying. If its not fixed already. Can the update be rolled into future rom versions?
I apologize if this is already answered I cant seem to find it if it is.

The SD card issue is addressed in a different post. Here. That fix fixed it for me. I upgraded to a class 4 16gig card and haven't had any SD card issues since.

WiFi works ok for me. Have you tried turning on Airplane mode and then turning it back off again?

how do you install the apps from one of the first post onto your phone everytime i try to install the lg keyboard it just force closes even before i can pull it up any where

The keyboards are flashed in recovery, not "installed" as you would a normal .apk. Is that what you are doing?

I have tried that stuff and it didnt seem to work for me. I am tempted by the sprint update but Id like to keep my root.

Yeah I tried all that SD card stuff and it really doesn't do crap. Formatted it on my computer just as described and it would still dismount/mount by itself constantly. Ended up just getting an 8GB class 4 SanDisk from Fry's for 19.99 and it has never dismounted itself once and this was awhile before the VC update.

Also I recently got the new sprint update and rooted so there is no reason why you shouldn't update....just make sure you reset to stock and then update via the LG Update tool.
