Do I have to update to from V9 to VC to use legoROM?
I know you have to do it in ThundeROM, that is the only reason I have not updated ThundeROM to 1.7(Im still on 1.62, but am switching ROM's this weekend as stated before)

Lego ROM runs on V9 ONLY right now, so if you want it don't update to VC or you'll have issues.

I haven't heard of any updates coming recently, so that's your best bet. I'm on Lego ROM and flashed beezy's fix for the OTA update and that got rid of the prompts to update to VC.

if they do update Lego ROM do you think that we'll have to do all the stuff to switch our phones to vc or is it possible for them to make it so that it will just do it for us when we update the ROM

Good question. As I understand it the rageagainstthecage exploit that we have been using to root got locked down on the VC update, so you can't root directly from VC. You would have to go through the process in this thread to get your root access back and upgrade to VC. I understand though that there are issues that won't allow PRL and profile updating when you're rooted and on VC baseband.

Good question. As I understand it the rageagainstthecage exploit that we have been using to root got locked down on the VC update, so you can't root directly from VC. You would have to go through the process in this thread to get your root access back and upgrade to VC.

In my experience, you may still be prone to the infamous LG Logo Brick symptom if you follow these steps. I have not tried drewwalton's Control Center app, which is supposed to enable one-click root to VC devices, that seems like an easier way to go. I believe that his app still relies on force flashing v9, rooting, flashing v9 recovery and then updating to vc, though, so there is still some risk.

In my opinion, until there is a direct exploit for vC or the vC recovery, rooting this version is a riskier and more difficult proposition, and should really only be done by people that have experience hacking android phones or are willing to spend time learning.

That's not quite correct. It is very easy to corrupt your NVRAM during LG Software Updater update from V9 to VC. One symptom of corrupt NVRAM is the inability to update Profile/PRL. Using the ##786# reset to reinitialize NVRAM corrects this issue, though. I am on rooted VC and CAN update my Profile/PRL.

LGHiddenMenu allows you to forces roam, you can remove it if you wish.

Are there plans to release and kernels at a higher OC? When I was running CM7 I was able to OC to the highest setting with no problem so I'm hoping you have it in the works.

This is an amazing keyboard by LG that has a T9 option in addition to a full qwerty. You WILL want to check this out.

Download the zip, pull the apk out, toss it on the SD card, use a file explorer to go to the apk on the sd card and click on it. It will install.

weird when i tried to do that it got really messed up so i just flashed the .zip in recovery and got it to work fine.

Youre absolutely right. For some reason i thought that one was just an apk but it's not. Sorry for any confusion

I just checked my about phone and it says zvc but in the notifications window an ota update wants me to update to ZVC even though i already have it... y?
And how can i make the ota update notifications stop?

EDIT: It says i have downloaded it but havent installed it yet... the notifications stopped for a while... i think it got fixed... :0

When I was on Lego I flashed the OTA-stop_buggin.zip for Thunderom and that worked. But if I remember the fix was different for Lego than OTA-stop_buggin.zip. Lots of reading here. :-!
