ARCHIVED: [DEAD ROM] LEGO-ROM-v2

Ever since I started running LegoROM my battery life has went down and it shows my Time Without a Signal is 50%. I have not been losing signal as I am right down the road from a Sprint tower. I also ran nROM for about an hour yesterday and noticed the same thing. Any ideas?

HERE is a link to a thread which discusses the time without signal bug which has been in Android since it's first CDMA compatible version (1.5 i believe). Also in that thread you can find a link to the bug i created and submitted to google. Feel free to go to that bug report and vote for it. The more votes the higher the priority. Also note, saying "me too" does not impact the situation. You must click the star to vote for it.

This is not a bug thats unique to ThundeROM, or nRom, or LEGO ROm or even the optimus. It's a bug that impacts all CDMA android devices. When you click my bug report you can see my theory on exactly why it's happening, to which someone also submitted supporting documentation in post #2 of the bug. Assuming my theory and the supporting documentation are correct, it has absolutely no impact on battery life :)

I'll reload the nandroid later and take some notes... The software loaded between versions is very similar... (I have a fairly basic set of programs I run)

I'd do it now, but will be stuck in meetings all morning...

I tried all that fun stuff. You have to put a blank as more of a place holder so that the phone will stay powered off then add your boot animation to the rom.

I have successfully changed boot animations before. The thing is its not a complete success, once the animation hits its end, it stops. How do I make it cycle/loop to play again?

thanks

Thanks, I just checked it out and voted. I have experienced this on both my Optimus S and my Hero. I normally don't pay too much attention to it, because at work I don't get solid service and have a very high TWOS. I am at home due to weather right now and that is why I noticed the 50%.

Boot animations and splash images are 2 different things. You said splash images earlier which is what we were referring to. those are in the boot image as beezy said. The boot animation is really easy to change. Regarding your other question, i'd have to look at it but I've changed mine out before and it cycled fine so it might be a problem with the script in the animation you used. I'm willing to bet you tried a 2 step boot animation which i havent gotten to work on these phones. A single step boot animation will work fine as thats what the default gradient "android" boot animation is.

New Buildprop is up. Deluxe without HTTP. This will fix the green lines in Youtube for anyone that runs deluxe. I'm not sure the impact on shoutcast from winamp or orb or NPR radio app or anything else you may or may not stream. Worth checking out though if you run deluxe.

I'd love to test this out to see if it impacts NPR radio, but I'm still running ThundeROM and this is the lego rom thread...is it OK to flash this buildprop in ThundeROM?

when changing (flashing) themes on lego (and other roms).....is it normal to have to redo flash the buildprops each time..?

Bummer...NPR does not work after flashing this. Oh well. Maybe this is a good thing, because a new pledge drive just started today. This buildprop might save me a few bucks.

I figured as much. Anything that's going to stream from a HTTP source is going to use the pre-stagefright method.

is anyone having market issues?

everytime i try to download an app, it just downloads. It doesn't install, after its done downloading it just goes back as a normal app. It's been like this since yesterday. :(

I've noticed that too. Not sure if it's a market thing or not. I've gotten all the apps with issues to install after a couple if tries though.

1) Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage apps > All apps Tab > Scroll down to market and tap > force stop, clear cache clear data. Open market. Accept terms. Try again.
2) Android Market Having a Hickup

Yeah I know the difference between the two. Somehow the we went from splash image to bootanimations. I was wondering why it doesn't loop, but rather stops at the end of its cycle. I am lost in the one/two step animations, you are probably right that i used a two step. I will take a look and see if I can tell the differences.

Thanks

Edit.... Just put the animation back in using root explorer and it worked! Before I was trying to flash it to data/local not use root explore, wonder why that made a difference?

hmm seeing that a few are having issues with boot animations...are you all doing the | adb - push "name of file (boot) /system/media (data/local ) etc. etc. | ( just off the top of my head i'm not at my main pc. )either way using that "push" i havent had issues with bootanimations.
