ummmm going into recovery and clearing cache might work. I'm not 100% sure. I have no way of testing though because I unrooted, put lg recovery back on, updated my phone then re-rooted, put custom recovery back on.

can that be done without using a computer and if so how do we do it. I too received the ota and its sitting on my phone. or can we just wait till its placed in our respective roms

Thanks, I might give it a shot later (clearing the cache through recovery). I'd prefer not to go through that entire route that you mentioned just to get the update to go away though if possible :( Are there pending plans on a directly upgradable Lego ROM (or TR) that will address the new updates? If I recall correctly though, the only way to actually get the new radio is through the process you mentioned? Any advantages that make that all worthwhile?

Random thought:

From the returning the phone to stock thread: "To upgrade to V9:
Due to the kernel being from V9, the phone thinks the firmware is up to date, so you will NOT be prompted for the OTA update."

So, would it be possible to trick the phone in to thinking the kernel is the new version, thus causing it to not get prompted for the new update?

The only advantage to upgrading is the new radio. Everything else can/will be incorporated into our ROMs. Typically I do not upgrade radios on my phones but I did for this just to play around. I wanted to tinker with psneuter and ratc.

We have the upgrade in ROM format, but rushing to put out half baked products is not what any of us are known for. We will fully test and vet anything prior to releasing. Once were comfortable with it, we'll let it go :D

In the end the thoroughness we all do pays out for you.

I've returned my optimus to stock several times following that thread and found that statement untrue. It has always found and automatically downloaded the updates for me.

Question: I'm running LEGO with xionaia, JIT and acceleration, and TwoPointTwo theme. Seeing a few bugs here and there (random reboots, running sluggish, sync symbol wont leave notification screen, etc.) and want to reflash LEGO over top of itself to try to fix the bugs. Love LEGO so want to stick with it (been using it since first day it came out).

My question is do I need to wipe data/cache/dalvik when I am just flashing LEGO over top of itself? Or can I flash without wiping anything and be alright? Don't want to have to reload all app's and such if its not necessary.

Thanks in advance!

right now i have lego rom and xionaia_kernel and JIT & Acceleration build prop. Any way i was comparing my bench mark score to the ones people posted and mine is only like half of theirs. What kernal/build prop do people use to make there phone run so fast?

Stagefright is what's needed for those scores... Basically it's a false reading, however, just looks nice on a chart.

Since your flashing over the existing frame work with the same rom you shouldnt need to wipe data. but wiping cache and dalvik are always a good idea just to clean up a bit.

quick question .. I've been running Lego for a few days and everything is PERFECT .. the only thing that I'm wondering about is the Baseband version number. In my "About phone" screen, it reads LS670MV8_6038. I know that I updated the radio to v9 a while back, and my ThundeRom flashes recently always read v9 (after the fix).

Is this just something that needs to be updated in the Lego ROM? or am I really back to v8 somehow?

It's just a display issue, controlled by an apk we need to switch out. It's not worth doing anything with right now as there was a new release so why put out an update for make it say v9 when we are working on an update for the new OTA yanno? Soon, i promise

so if we haven't updated to the new update, will the new lego update come with the update(including the radio) or will we have to update manually.

Im holding off on updating to the new lg update, since i really see no benefit in updating my phone.

The way I understand custom roms is that they do not include radios.

I know that the new Zefie Rom will only work with the latest sprint update.

What I am wondering is if I go back to stock and go through all the steps to get the new sprint update and radio, will I be able to load LegoRom again?

What I would really like to do is to go through all the steps and after re-rooting flash a nandroid backup of my current Lego Rom.

I am pretty sure the roms made before the VC update will currently only work with v8 and v9. It looks like the LEGO team is going to make a version of the LEGO Rom to work with the new OTA update.

Zefie explained it in another post somewhere. The new OTA update is on one side of the bridge currently, and the previous Roms are on the other side of the bridge.

Thanks KSmith. That's what I figured.
Believe me, ima wait till you guys say, "it's ready" before I mess around with unrooting, going to stock, updating via OTA, taking a chance flashing, then crying about my brick! This thing is running too smooth for me to change anything right now.

It was rather frustrating when the current rooting technique's didn't work on the new OTA... ;)

Software Update??

Hi,

I was using NROM but decided to try out Lego rom and followed the instructions and wiped data/factory reset, cache and dalvik and everything works great.. My question is when I rebooted my phone say's it had a system update and I am not sure if this is an update from Lego rom developer himself ( when I had a cliq and used a custom rom, it would auto update whne the developer pushed a new update) that is why I am asking, if so then I am sure it is safe to flash and won't unroot my phone but I would like everyone's opionion on this as I thought system updates from the manufactur/carrier were disabled in custom roms.. The update is LS670ZVC the download size for this update is 16.7MB and the description is " This system update will fix known issues on your device and ensure your device is performing at its best. The update will require that your phone is rebooted and it will not be available for emergency calls while installing the software" So if anyone can tell me weither I should go ahead and install or just ignore it? that would be great

its an ota from sprint. don't install it. the rom devs are worming to incorporate the ota into the roms. so for now just keep pressing later until rom update becomes avail in forums.

Nice What a great job Dev's nice team work. Also thx for the great walk-thru as it was very explainitory and easy to follow for ppl who may just be getting to that # prompt on the dos screen. Only complaint...No lego awsome logo startup screen?...Sprint does not deserve the Ad space on yur Roms startup screen.^^... and no props to ya in the "about phone" section (O.o)...lol ok rant /off.
