Stop OTA Update Prompts (Updated LegoROM Build.prop files)

Just hacked these up. These are all the Lego ROM Build.prop files edited in such a way that OTA should go away, for now. (Until the next update)

Tech Info:
Spoofing VC version instead of V9. gmsversion param at bottom seems to be the kicker.

Usage:
Just download and flash like you would from Lego ROM.

Before you ask:
No, this does no update you VC.
No, this does not update your baseband.
No, this does not require you do be updated.
No, this probably won't fix the HFA bug that VC Baseband has on V9 roms.
Yes, you can use it regardless of what version Baseband or ROM you have. Even VCRom.

All this does, is update what version of their software LG thinks you are running.

DOWNLOAD STOCK - This is the stock buildprop that comes with the ROM. No JIT, H/W, Wifi, or stagefright.
DOWNLOAD JIT ONLY - This only has JIT enabled
DOWNLOAD ACCELERATION ONLY - This only has acceleration enabled
DOWNLOAD STAGEFRIGHT ONLY - This only has stagefright enabled
DOWNLOAD JIT & ACCELERATION - This has JIT and Hardware acceleration
DOWNLOAD JIT & STAGEFRIGHT - This has JIT and stagefright enabled
DOWNLOAD STAGEFRIGHT & ACCELERATION - This has stagefright and acceleration enabled
DOWNLOAD DELUXE - This has acceleration, Stagefright, and JIT enabled

Remember to thank or even donate the occasional dime :)

Nice What a great job Dev's nice team work. Also thx for the great walk-thru as it was very explainitory and easy to follow for ppl who may just be getting to that # prompt on the dos screen. Only complaint...No lego awsome logo startup screen?...Sprint does not deserve the Ad space on yur Roms startup screen.^^... and no props to ya in the "about phone" section (O.o)...lol ok rant /off.

Thanks,we got a boot animation just haven't had time to get around to adding it,when we update it will get updated. We didn't want to change the about phone, this is for the community, plus we all choose to do this donatitions and thanks are great but they are not a requirement so we all put everything aside for the better of the community and left to in evryone hands to change edit everything they want without having our names stamped all over it.;)

Well i kinda had it a second thread because it will work for everyone having the issue not just lego rommers :)

And i noticed ppl complaining about the OTA update in like 5 different threads so far so I was thinking a sticky with that title would quiet things down

I was already working on getting a post up here,i already put one in thunder thread. People really need to do this even if they flash one of those.

Go to that link and make it so even if the ota downloaded it won't install.

This method is good for the sake of not bricking radio but for a actual fix is highly frowned upon. Further reading will show that this invalidates the zip's cert, so the system thinks the file is corrupted.

It will then delete it and download it again...... and again.. and again.. and again.

Eating your battery/wifi/3g.

No it won't i haven't lost any battery but thanks for your concern.

Everyone's phone checks for updates at a certain time everyday.

Just passing along what I found on Google when I originally was looking to stop OTA :)

Is there any potential benefit to updating radio?...I understand it could brick me just curious about what...if anything... is different. Thanks

Presumably, better reception, fewer dropped calls, etc., "but your mileage may vary". If you're not rooted and don't intend to root, you shouldn't have to worry about bricking and should consider taking the update. Also, it looks like the OTA version of the VC update is the culprit in regards to not being able to root/custom recovery/etc., while the LG Updater version is benign.

Sorry to be a nitpicker for this "no nag patch" .. but is there a BuildProp-Deluxe-No-HTTP.zip?
I know this is just a temp band-aid, but I figured I'd ask.

Nope its been removed as it makes absolutely no sense. The point of enabling stagefright is so apps like shoutcast which are made specifically for stagefright, work. It has the negative impact of putting a green line on youtube. In order to fix the green line you disable HTTP but take a wild guess what also uses HTTP ..... If guess = streaming apps for stagefright, you win lol

So it's completely pointless. The point of stagefright is to make streaming 2.2 apps work. If you disable HTTP you disable those apps which would mean why not run JIT+Acceleration? Green lines are fixed and streaming apps for stagefright don't work, same net effect.

First of all I want to say thanks to the developers of ThundeROM and LegoROM. I have used both and am very impressed by the everything.

Today was my first run in with trouble. I was wondering if anyone had seen anything similar and if there is a quick fix.

I was running:
LegoROM
BuildProp-JIT-Acceleration
Gingerbread Theme
Boot_748_Max_B
Widgets Pack
ADW Launcher

I have the pattern password lock set and when I entered it incorrectly the phone reset. From reading other posts, this is a known issue. However, when the phone reset it won't load many of the widgets and the Build number is FRG83. Also, interestingly, the sms messages in my messaging folder are from December. I have done a factory wipe twice since then...

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

how do you install the apps that you can download cuz i flashed one of the keyboards from custom recovery and it messed up my phone and i had to nand restore and that fun stuff

Thanks for the quick reply. I saw that but didn't realize the hotboot was going to cause so many issues. Lesson learned the hard way.

Haven't had the chance to do much research so I figure this is the place to ask.I'm usually one to read and be informed before asking questions but being at work and not having much time lately, I'm going to throw this out there: I did have a chance to read the new thread on rooting with V9 or VC. What I am having trouble understanding is if I can take my currently not updated, running lego rom system, revert back to stock to do the update (with lg updater), re-root, then reload lego rom? Is that even possible yet? Am I missing something? I try to be informed before asking questions and can't seem to figure this one out. Any help is appreciated!
