Updates will slow down, I will occasionally check mik9 and Cyanogen git for updates if no one else has taken over but hopefully someone else will resume and complete this project.

Also 04192011 is uploading. You can't download it until it's done (because my file indexer is just awesome like that), so when it lets you, have fun :)

I think it is usable enough currently, the small bugs that are left over are the cost of getting gingerbread on something that hasn't even been slated for an update, despite rumors of the Optimus One line being updated.

Someone will get bored enough and grab the reigns. I'm holding on to my Optimus, until the Nexus S releases, but who knows, someone might get a gift if they make a couple promises.

I know the S doesn't have the bleeding edge processor in it, but it has other things that make it attractive to a developer. Plus it's the most easily un-lockable device short of the nook Color.

When the Optimus One gets the upgrade you may be able to finalize this ROM. Even if the S never gets it. Reason being is afaik, the Optimus One is the P500, which is what this is based off of.

I feel for ya, I lost a Razr the same way. I learned from three identical Treo 700p's that no phone will function the same way. Even when one phone on the shelf works flawlessly, the one behind it might sink like a brick.

A toast to all the faulty devices that give technology a bad name, and to the people that have to deal with them.

Disclaimer: I paid full price for mine, so even though I love it dearly, I have a vested interest in cuddling it no matter what.

I'm guessing if I paid for mine I would have been less inclined to smash it. I did pay for it at first but then Sprint credited me (I ordered it online, then they started giving it away like a week later.) So technically it was free.

I still feel no remorse. Usually I regret stuff like this the next day but I don't miss the phone. Just eager for my replacement Lotus to come tomorrow and for my ex to find my blackberry.

Also, the upload is complete.

Downloading now :)

Downloaded and flashed. Don't really notice any difference. hehe Button clicks came back (didn't notice they were gone, until they came back). Any hint on what may have been updated?

I'll flash in the morning. :)

I didn't regret the Razr either... a v3m on Verizon?? Bah!!! I had better luck with tin cans than trying to personalize the thing.

Eventually the replacement (two for one deal) Razr received what I always wanted, a complete Battlestar Galactica theme and ringtone even replacing the verizon logo on the ext screen with the BSG Insignia. :D I still have it in a drawer behind me.

But by golly that first one never wanted to cooperate with me.
think I scared the second one into submission?

Nah. Whoever, if anyone, buys it from me can fix it. I don't WANT it. lol.

My ex also has one (on my account), she wants a basic phone too, also tired of the Optimus' fail. So I will have a good one to sell some time in the future.

Also I have reconsidered and am willing to trade the Broken Optimus for a Lotus battery (NOT lotus elite, LX600 Battery Model LGP-400A). The entire kit I mentioned above, tradee pays shipping for both ways.

And no eBay links please, unless you are going to donate, because I'm broke as hell after buying food >.> (I have $1.34 on my debit card and $0 in paypal and I still need to save up $120 by June to keep my Dreamhost hosting (files.mysticmidnight.net))

I'm not asking for donations, my bills are my problem, just explaining why linking me to buy parts isn't helpful. I appreciate the thought though :)

>.> lol. The sad part is I had to Google that despite seeing that movie.
I'll probably make a final update this weekend. I doubt CM7 will be updated much more since they released it as final so..

The source is, of course, still fully open on my github and will remain so. So its not the end, just the end of me doing it :P

Someone else can pick up on it though! :)

Also, as for the Lotus, Sprint is mailing me a replacement, so hopefully tomorrow I will have a stable dumbphone.

I'm in Dallas Texas and I know that the Sprint stores around here are real good about replacing screens on their devices free of charge. You might want to check into it. A real good friend of mine has had his EVO screen replaced 2 times since he got it in Feb.

yeah sprint doesnt care about my town, which is why we have 1 corporate AT&T, 1 (not 2, like i previously thought) corporate verizon, and 0 corporate sprint.

in fact there isn't an "official" sprint within 100 miles which is why i usually can get Asurion waived off my Sprint bill if they can't do an advance replacement. >.>

Or used to before Sprint turned all anti-loyal-customer.

I need to activate my Optimus S. I've downgraded from CM7 to stock 'MVC' to do so but it's stuck on the 'Hands Free Activation' pop-up. It says, "Contacting network..." and never goes anywhere. Is there something more I should have done besides wiping data, cache and reflashing? Oh, btw I did restore a nandroid backup rather than reflash a stock rom. Could that be the issue? I've been messing with this all night and can't get anywhere. Even Sprint didn't know why it wasn't activating.

Please help, desperate!
