Performance is pretty bad at sucking battery life. It keeps the CPU at max clock speed the entire time, never scaling it down. It's akin to putting a brick on the accelerator pedal of your car and just shifting into neutral when you come to a stop light.

Rofl....just picturing it.

Just flashed newest. Running vd started right up runs great on my phone. No new issues

how did u get urs to run that fast an stay stabale so it dont restart on u?

Every phone has different limits. Some run fine at 806, some at 864, some can only hit 768 or whatever. It's due to tiny imperfections in the silicon chips themselves. NOTHING you do will increase the speed at which your phone can run, (short of taking it apart and installing big heatsinks and **** on it, which MAY help). You are stuck with what you are stuck with.

ok thanks for the info i can OC mone to 806 an thats about as high as i can go whats better interactive or ondemand an whats the different between the 2.

interactive and ondemand are pretty similar, but here's what I think (correct me if I'm wrong..):
While both will scale down to save battery, interactive will do so based on what YOU (the user) are actively doing. On the other hand, ondemand will look to what the apps are doing, and will allow them to request more clock speed, instead of relying more on the user for that kind of input. I've found slightly better battery life with interactive personally. Of course, most of this is speculation, but it sounds about right..

Has that 1ghz been proven yet? Because that would be something impressive for the phones with processors that can handle those speeds. Especially because I thaught I remember zefie saying somewhere that 864 is the max, uness he is manipulating the voltage set in the kernal.

And on a side note, I gotta say, gingerbread and cm7 are incredible, thank you zefie! But does anyone know an easy way to remove the stock launcher? I'm really partial to Go Launcher Ex and every time I reboot I have to click out of the stock launcher and manually go to go launcher even though I set it as system default.

No I understand completely. I personally can reach 864, and even boot at 844, but I dont because I dont need that much cpu power, but I can see some peoples fascination with high clock speeds.

Still would be nice to see a screen grab of the now mythical 1ghz optimus tho.

Loaded it today couple things tho. Us there a way to us swype on this and also can we use the themes from like Lego ron. I enjoy having the battery percentage up top there. Thanks. I'm enjoying it so far

First, I request a sub-thread or FAQ page for this ROM for the repeat questions. Yes, there is search but it isn't perfect and the 140+ pages to go through can be a bit much. A LOT of the same stuff keeps getting asked, having separate issues split up I think would make it a lot easier.

To answer your questions... the Swype one is difficult. You CAN use it, problem is Zefie doesnt have a license to include it in his ROM, making it illegal to prepackage. You could try to pull it from stock or just google for their official website and sign up for their beta for free - their beta would keep you up to date with new updates anyway, where as the stock one is forever at that state.

Themes are another story. CyanogenMod uses apk files for themes, you install them like an app, then use theme manager to switch them. No need to flash a new 1. You would probably mess up your ROM if you tried to flash themes from other ROMs, so don't try it. You can find themes in the market or by googling for cyanogenmod 7 themes (or CM7 themes). But ones made for a different resolution than the Optimus may not display right.

If all you care about is the battery percentage, there is an option in the cyanogenmod settings to turn on/off the battery %.

/system/app/Launcher.apk
/system/app/Launcher.odex

or

/system/app/Launcher2.apk
/system/app/Launcher2.odex

or

/system/app/*Launch*

whatever the case be sure to make a backup just in case your other launcher doesn't take over. I had no problems with LauncherPro co-existing with the default so I'm going to guess there is some bug with the Launcher of your choice.

Still playing round with it. Do notice its sucking through battery. Also when I am mid call and want to hang up the screen never comes back. I ended up having to do a battery pull

Pressing the power button ends a call waiting a few minuets brings the screen back.

Ok, so I flashed the newest nightly about 4 hours ago and now ive noticed a thing that hadnt happened before. Every like 5 minutes I used it, it rebooted randomly so I was playin flick kick football and it rebooted by itself. It turned back on and then I went to play slice it. It rebooted. After it turned back on for the second time, I let it rest for about 15 minutes and then I went to browse the web. IT REBOOTED!!! I know I am the only one with this stupid rebootimg problem but I just want help. I just flashed thunderom to be able to use my phone without it rebootimg.

Are you running the kernel at 600 mhz or overclocked? If you have it overclocked, it could be that your phone doesn't run stable at the speed you have it. I'd drop it down a notch, and run same apps and see where you can run it without it rebooting.

If you don't have it overclocked, I defer to more experienced people.

I've had the same thing happen twice, once while playing music and once while switching wifi off. Once it came back on it hasn't done it again. I can't replicate it unfortunately. So dunno what could cause it, just saying you're not the only one

Has anyone used the wifi tether? If so has your phone overheated? Maybe its cause im overclocked idk. Can anyone shed some light on this? thanx.
