If this is a repeat question I apologize but is there any way to change the sprint text in the dropdown notification?

I believe you can edit this in thd build.prop file not sure which setting you change, obviously one that says sprint, would be cool to change it to CM7 or CyanogenMod7... if someone could tell us which one to change would be great, thanks...

Sent from my rooted LG Optimus S running CM7

If you edit your build.prop line, "ro.cdma.home.operator.alpha=", from ThundeRom to whatever you want, that should do the trick. Ymmv. :)

Tried that using a build prop editor I have on the phone. It shows its changed in the build prop just not on the task bar.

hi i did a search on this thread before posting this, but how come there is no speech recognition? nor can you download it from the market.

Okay couple things. I noticed the inability to send emails in gmail app, as someone else noted. Was this issue resolved already? Also, my battery life still isn't that great, despite my sensationalizing of the #*#*4636*#*# tweak. Less than 10 hours under reasonable usage (nothing very heavy, no games) and down to ~30%. Not too good. And only OC'd to 748. I'm going to go ahead and try out the AOSP build and see how that fares, I hear the kernel and general build of it is more battery-minded and people get outstanding life out of it. I'll try it out for tonight/tomorrow and report back. Maybe if it's the kernel that gets the great battery life for it, we can use that with this rom? Not really sure of the differences between the two roms right now, but I'm sure I'll find out soon ;)

PS. Things suck a lot more when you lose your usb cable and have to download everything over wifi..

Also...

Grab voice search from the market. The rom should already have voice dialer built in to power that aspect, but the voice search app should fill in the gap for you. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.android.voicesearch&feature=search_result

Gmail send receive works just fine. Overclocking kills batteries even 748mhz. Asop rom is built for optimus V, cm7 rom is built for optimus T.

Edit: totally didn't realize who i was replying too.

In terms of differences I meant what works better/worse than this build. There's been a patch made available to make it play nice with the S. So far so good with it, I'm reinstalling all my apps with titanium. There's also a 3/25 gapps build available with the aosp gingerbread build, I'll see if that works as expected as well.

I'm only now concerned about battery life because I had it at 748 in early builds of this rom, and same with TR, and life was at least 20 hours. Recently it went down a lot without much user change (in terms of apps, etc.) So I'm just trying to troubleshoot a bit here and see what I can do about it.

Is there a way to get battery life out of this rom that TR 1.8.2? I love this rom but the battery life sucks.

How long have you been running it? Reason I ask is that the longer you run it the better it should get...

For instance...I've been off charger since 1pm I'm at 50% battery....thats almost 12 hours with descent usage.

If coming from TR and running this for the first time, you probably could benefit from charging completely then wiping battery stats for a fresh start. Just boot into recovery and there's an option in there for it.

I am at 39% after 14 hours but I've hardly used.myphony today. A few calls, a few news stories, a few emails and a few checks in here.

GPS location finally works!!! All I had to do was update to VD using LG update tool and restoring nand after you fully boot and then poof

Just wanted to update on this. I know I had posed the question about the battery life yesterday so let me tell you what happend:

I went to xda and found the Glaxy S theme and wanted to try it on my Optimus S. The bad thing was that my phone didn't like it and got stuck on the boot animation so I went to go restore my nand and realized it was the TR 1.8.2 nand and not my CM7 nand. Anyway, I had to end up reflashing Zefie's CM7 on my phone from scratch. I am also using zefie's custom recovery, so I wipred data, cache, went to mounts and storage and formatted everything possible (except sdcard) and reflashed cm7 (per instructions). Charged my phone overnight and today I have been using my phone (as usual - no heavy usage) for 3 hours + and I'm still at 100% battery life. What gives? lol no idea what i did or what happened.

I'm not saying this is a fix, but something happened where my battery life is no longer at 40% 3 hours into my day. Any ideas?

When you wiped data, you also delete your battery stats. You will probably have to calibrate your battery.

Unless you had a full charge when you flashed the rom after a complete wipe...most of the time its fine.

Thats why you dont flash unless you have full charge...
