Some of you who signed up for Dropbox please install the client, it is not malware. But it is required to take advantage of both the service and the bonus space for the both of us.

I installed it on my phone and uploaded a few things, I'll get in on my pc in a while

Has anybody gotten wifi hotspot to work? I use it all the time for my nook color, but if I try to turn it on in cm7 I get "error", in settings as well as hotspots apps

Try Wireless Tether. Works good.

is there anynew themes for this rom

If you look around you'll find some that were originally developed for a tmobile phone I think, but have been ported for use with all cm7 builds. Thing is, these are developed for mdpi displays, and not hdpi (which is what our phone has).. So most things will work, but there are still glitches that exist when trying to use them. The awesome part is they install as any other apk then show up in your built-in theme chooser application. Those xda people are working on some hacks to get them to work properly on hdpi phones, but right now it's still a work-in-progress..

tl;dr - no. but it's coming.

oops, sorry. Was able to sign up on my handset but had to repair my desktop to install :/
should be good now.
Really appreciate your (and everyone else's too) work on the Optimus. Awesome stuff.

what features does this ROM have?
I hear great reviews about cm7 but not really heard of its features.

how does this ROM differ from the other ROMs for the optimus s?

I don't know, kind of liked the default Cyanogenmod boot screen a bit better :P

Also, random question - anyone had issues with emails sent to the phone's email address (not like your gmail address, but to the actual email that Sprint has set up that lets you receive email based texts?). Been trying to get that set up again, and I'm getting absolutely nothing on my phone when I try it.

Best things for me are the highly customizable user settings. The power widgett pack in the notification bar, screen timeout options, and the ability to use menu button to unlock screen(my fav). Built in setcpu. DSPmanager(still needs tweaking...) and much more.
I love cm7.....except for the sound issues right now. Have it on my hero also.

yeah there is some weird oddity where the CM7 zip doesn't wipe system, even though the code is there. It is a bug in froyo recovery I think.

So is that CM7 wide bug or just in our optimus CM7 port? And is that debug zip good for any phone? I ask cuz i got some EVO friends who have all kinds of CM7 problems.

So did I. The new boot screen also means we can't easily merge this into the official CM7 repos :(

The zip is good for all phones. I have seen the problem mentioned often in the EVO forums, so I assume it is across all phones (or most anyway).

It was just for fun, if you don't like it flash the previous nightly. It's not like it would be hard to revert either, these are nightlies after all so don't worry about not being able to merge this with official cm7 repos.

anybody experiencing a significant reduction in battery life?

any tips on how to conserve a bit?
Other than the speakerphone volume being lower than stock, and having to occasionally re-install Swype, i love this ROM..

anybody had\fixed any of the above issues?

so tried to setup the new protection app from sprint. no go on cm7 lol. says device not supported. ehh.

i assume the 2/27 build is no more than the boot animation?

as far as battery goes, i have installed a beta version of juice defender that has support for gingerbread (hopefully a public version will be available soon). this has increased my battery quite a bit, i make it a whole day now without having to charge (i do alot on my phone). i would post the apk but the dev has asked that we not post the betas until he is ready for a public beta release. but if you visit his site and sign up for the beta team, you'll be able to download it, if your interested in that kind of thing.

loving the build!

Better fix go to phone settings and check "always use proximity sensor" fixes it no more swipe swipe

i have noticed (just this morning) that sometimes while in a call, the screen does not always come back and a swipe over the sensor is needed. this is with the above mentioned setting checked. when a call is ended it does not seem to be an issue, only when in call from what i have seen.
