I just wanted to say that I too was having the issue with neither Wi-Fi Tether nor USB Tether working in the 20110426 version of this ROM. Since I need the Wi-Fi Tether functionality, I've reverted to my backup of the 0419 version.

I guess a better question for all the people who've updated is, does Wi-Fi or USB tether work for any of you? Maybe there's a setting that the rest of us have messed up somewhere.

wifi tethering says error ....... my solution ....... go to market got wireless tether for root! i cant do anything else on phone while tethered till the Devs fix this but i like the rom otherwise.

i dont know why crap is breaking. I might have access to another optimus some time in the near future. My ex has one on my account but she too is sick of it so she will probably take a lotus. idk though all the issues i'd have to activate it, ugh. lol

Edit: Can someone try the current rom, with Mms.apk from a working version (such as 404)? Probably won't work but curious.

As for Wifi Tether, I might have broken the kernel, try boot.img from 404 as well.

So I've tried flashing both this and aosp's rom... both fail, with the following output:

I have a couple of questions here:

#1 What exactly do you mean by Bluetooth being more broken? I don't presently use any Bluetooth headset features since the microphone died on my stereo Bluetooth headset but I do still use that headset for A2DP and I occasionally make Bluetooth file transfers. Those functions work fine for me in the 0419 build will they not work in 0428?

#2 What radio do you recommend for use with this ROM? I think that I'm actually still using the V9 radio since I installed CM7 immediately after downgrading to V9 and rooting my phone after the WiFi tether killing VD OTA. Is my V9 radio fine or should I install VC or VD's radio? I guess a related question is how do I check my radio version since I can't see it in the settings right now.

May 8th I'm getting rid of my optimus as I'm tired of flashing roms and buggy software... I'm going straight to nexus s. Cyanogen is a nice proof of concept but its never 100% working and there is always annoying bugs and when one if fixed 2 more show up. I'd rather have something deeply tested and straight from Google... hence the Nexus S 4g.

The optimus will go on ebay

i flashed back to 0404, and since i dont use BT for anything but audio, i dont care about that bug. EVERYTHING else for me is flawless....

hmmmm, been using CM since 6, never had any major bugs, i've had more problems out of stock roms than CM.

CM just takes stock Android and makes it better.

I think the majority of problems stem from the device itself not the ROM. Now the Optimus S is a far better phone than the Hero, hence why i switched. Personally, I love the size of it, anything bigger and it's just too much, i've played with the EVO and a few others and they are just HUGE, regardless of what is in the innards. I may get a larger phone in the future but just not now. </soapbox> lol
