Flash while in Recovery

So does 1.5 have JIT Enabled? Or we need to do it from the sd card? How are people getting such high quadrant scores. I have the oc kernel >.<

They are pushed to the SD card during the process of loading the ROM, so they will be in the root of your SD card.

So, yes, flash after the ROM, while still in the recovery.

Just checked my quadrant after the 1.5 and its 494. not good I take it what do I have to do to get it up

StageFreight apparently gives false positives, it jacks up your quadrant score, at least that is what I am hearing on android central.

See here

Linpack would give you a good estimate of how good the phone is functioning.

I would think that between 9 and 10 MFLOPS would be great for the phone currently.

Ok, any clue what I'm getting two email notifications for my gmail account all of the sudden? Didn't happen earlier, just started after work.

What's going on is that the Email app and the Gmail app are both retrieving email from your Gmail address. Try going into the regular email app and setting the check mail interval on the Gmail account to "Never". The Gmail app will still get messages pushed to it and will notify you, and the email app will stop notifying you.

That did it, thanks.

So it would seem that 1.5 already comes with JIT enabled but it wasn't clear so I tried flashing the zip from sd, which apparently disabled it. Went from about 7 mflops to a little over 3. Is there a way to reenable it or do I need to recover from backup (which I didn't make of course) / reflash the ROM?

re-flashing should do it. U don't have to clear ur cache so u won't be losing anything.... I would try flashing the build prop file first to see if that fixes it then go with re-flashing the whole thing if that doesn't work. Let us know what u find out.

Were setcpu settings adjusted with 1.5? I all of a sudden can't OC post 600 which I thought was stock. Only thing I changed was flashing 1.5. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling setcpu with the same result. Any ideas?

Edit: reloaded kernal and all is well!

Using recovery-thunderc-s-RA-1.2-GNM.img ... i can only read zip's from a directory. and not the root of the sdcard. I could flash 1.4 zip from the root of the sdcard.. but i have not been able to read any zips in the root of the sdcard afterwards. Just seeing if anyone else has this problem. I currently am on 1.5 ThundeROM.

Got it fixed by flashing the buildpro_1.5.

Best I can determineis this:

buildpro_1.5 = Jit only
Buildpropdeluxe = jit and stage fright
buildpropstock = neither

Sounds like this issue is more related to the recovery program. I would post in that thread to see if anyone had suggestions about it.

All ROMs come with a kernel. It might be stock it might be custom but, all ROMs come with a kernel. This ROM currently comes with a stock kernel. So yes, if you want a different kernel after flashing a ROM you need to flash the kernel after the ROM. This is not an optimus or even an android thing, this is linux.

I agree with basket, this is regarding the recovery, not the ROM. A ROM cannot control these functions. You should post this in the recovery thread.

You sure you aren't running into the same issue a mentioned a few posts back? With the file chooser screen in 1.2, it appears that the directory/file listing screen is limited to a fixed length. If you have too many directories in the main root dir, then the directory listing will effectively "push" any zip files off the bottom of the list. If this is what's happening for you, give a previous commenter's advice a shot: create a directory in the root of the SD card called "AndroidZips" or something similarly high in the alphabet that will always show up. Then you can just place everything under that dir manually.

Sorry if your issue is completely unrelated to this though.

I like "AAAAAA", puts it at the top of the list :)

ThundeRom 1.5 is flawless - period. All Force close issues are gone on my end. And I will add that I have a lot of 3rd-party apps installed. Google Maps 5 also runs sweet!

Am I the only one that I like the original stock transition more than the 1.5 custom transition? :(

Certainly not. In this very thread many people have said they do not care for the new transitions.

I really don't like them either, but I turn off animations anyway because I feel like they just slow me down. I only turned them on to see if I liked them.
