phone sat idle today for 7 hours with no drain whatsoever while in locker at work. So the reflash I did last night fixed it wooooooot.

btw beezy come to Texas sometime and I will let you take the superbee down the drag strip quarter mile in 8.759 secs

What are the specs that your running like everything if you don't mind I'm having the same problem with battery life but have not flashed 1.6.2 yet.

My set up is:

Tr 1.5
Deluxe package is flashed
Twitter widget but only updates manually
Everything that saves power is off ( brightness down, no wifi, bluetooth, etc)
Battery will barely last a day
Currently:

Gallary 40%
Standby 24%
idle 16%
system 8%
voice 8%
display 6%

7 hr 33 min unplugged battery is at 33% and falling hopefully the flash will help fix

Im using my iPod more than my phone cause my battery will die

Try 1.6.2 with no buildprop,
installed
Astro file manager
opera mini
absolute system
ink pad
tv guide app
gatorboot theme
terminal emulator

settings
brightness set to factory
wifi and bluetooth off
screen time out at 1 min

I am seeing that opera does eat alot of battery when using 3G. But other than that am having way better battery life. When I reflashed I first cleaned my sdcard of all old folders and unused files, then wiped factory, cache and dalvik. After flash I let phone charge to 100% with no usage at all.
Though it take 3 flashes it finally got ironed out.

Are you downloading alot of videos or taking alot of pictures. I don't think your gallery. should be running so much.

I don't know if you use the 3G radio often, but it will kill your battery relatively quickly, even in a strong signal area. I listen to about an hour of Pandora using EVDO most days, and that generally takes a good 15%.

The Wi-Fi battery efficiency is pretty amazing on v1.6.2, so try to use that whenever you can.

Hey guys great roms

I have been using 1.5 since its release, and loaded 1.6 a few days ago
Then moved to 1.6.2 but have been getting some strange screen and icon
Jitters with this last release when using awd ex, screen will jitter and jump around,
Ill be in a screen and the phone will vibrate and then ill be blown to main Screen
where an icon shortcut will apear on its own but the screen will sit and jitter and lock up
untill the power button is pressed and the screen re awakened.

Any ideas?

beezy

Just a follow up, it showed up again twice but this time when making a call, on dialing out I hit the number 3 key, 3 showed up above but number 1 key lit up orange after hitting 3 and stayed lit up and the screen froze until I held the power key and re woke the phone..

I'm not sure how these capacitive screens work, but the screen is clean of any oils or grease smears just in case that makes any conections..

1.5 worked flawless from the day I flashed it though. this only showed up on 1.6.2 for me.

I'm only installing 4 things to the rom after a flash.
awd ex 1.21, adw gingerbread theme, beautiful widgets, and beautiful widgets ad on

Thanks

I've seen this issue two or three times on my phone, I think I was running TR 1.5 at the time (without ADW), but also many times on my wife's phone which is bone stock. The best I can gather is that this is a hardware issue with the capacitive screen. I've actually got a video on my phone of her pattern lock going crazy responding to touch inputs that weren't actually there. I also had one time where I pocketed the phone while on a call (and forgot to turn off the screen), and it of course started dialing audibly on the call. When I took it out of my pocket and put it on my desk, it continued to do so on its own until I turned the screen off. Some type of residual surface charge on the screen is my best guess. Turning the screen off and back on seems to clear this. Your issue could easily be explained by these same random "ghost" touches. Keep an eye on it, if it gets worse try flashing stock and see if it continues. If it does, it should be under warranty.

Thats why I'm not sure if this is rom related!

But I thought I was the only one having this issue, I'm starting to wonder if it could be the case I keep it in, or clothes I'm wearing, we have 3 of these phones in the family, no one has an issue but me, then again the other 2 are bone stock.

I love the phone I switched over from a TP2 win moby 6.5. I never thought I would like android as much I do, but this screen thing can drive you nuts when your trying to make an important call.

No I don't really, i'm a college student so a typical day is texting and browsing facebook, twitter, and browser maybe a phone call or two and thats it. I've got a new sd card on the way once it arrives i'm going to wipe everything and start from scratch with the new sd card. I'll keep an update on how it goes and if i see any improvement in battery life.

On a side note however, i have wiped the battery stats before through custom recovery, this seems to help but will only work on that single charge so i gave up on it.

I gotta say, I love Thunderrom, I've been using it since 1.2.. But after flashing to 1.6.2 from 1.5, no matter what settings I use, adFree hasn't been working at all. I've uninstalled it, updated it, rolled it back, and can't get it to work with 1.6.2. Honestly, for my usage I haven't noticed much difference between the versions, so I'll be flashing back to 1.4 or 1.5. Just wanted to point that out to you. Thanks for keeping me away from the sprint Default in any case, and keep up the awesome work

this is going to be a stupid question but is there any way to use this rom with a vortex??? I really wish there was because I can only find breakneck rom atm.

It's good that you asked before hand no it won't work for the vortex you don't want to flash this on that phone this is for the lg optimus s for sprint only sorry.

call me stupid, but from reading the release notes of 1.6, it looks like we can overclock easily without installing anything other than flashing 1.6 (or 1.6.2)? If so, how to do it? thanks!

The kernel that comes with 1.6 is overclockable, with the built-in settings set at a max of 7 hundred something and a min of one hundred something. 1.6.2 raises the min to 2 hundred something due to some issues when the phone is down to the min set in 1.6. Those are just the built-in settings - using a program like SetCPU can alter those max/min values.

In the next update, maybe tweak that gingerbread music player that is out which a lot of people have had a hard time installing themselves. I have tried everything I can think of and STILL can't get it to install.

v1.6.2 comes with a OC kernel set initially to a minimum of 245 MHz and a Maximum of 748 MHz. See the OP.

I personally like to raise it to 768 MHz, although I am sure the difference is negligible.

so when you say the "Gov. = interactive", you mean?? Is it changeable or does it change itself acording to how you use it??

Thanks for tracking it down. Ill probaly being jumpping back to 1.5 just to double check but if you get to it before me let me know if it does/doesn't.

I finally got around to flashing nROM 1.4 (as I guess I deleted my TR 1.5 zip) and no lag caused from tethering that I was getting system wide in 1.6. Use the hotspot, tether something, pull some data, and use the messaging app for example.

All of the old releases are on my mirror site if you need/want v1.5 again.

Getting ready to go from 1.5 to 1.6.2. I know I can just flash over with no wipes, but should I make another recovery? I thought I read that I should, but can't seem to find it again.

Its suggested that you make a nadroid backup nut if you don't want then you don't have to. If you do an thongs are good after a day or two then you could always go back and delete that nadroid to free up room
