Fixed as in getting all the codecs to be supported? I've poked at it a little bit without success but haven't really given it the old college try.

Flashing Rom

Hey guys

noob question here,

Is there a way to do a complete wipe before flashing
what I mean is I don't want left over files from old programs
left on the phone when I flash a new rom.

I don't want programs I installed to be left in the phone.

I flashed thunder 1.5 but had some strange screen issues from
adw launcher vs Launcher pro, the screen will jump and jitter around sometimes
or lock half way between screens, even though I had uninstalled awd, I noticed some settings would persist.

I would like to wipe the phone completely clean, and start fresh with the 1.5 rom, nothing left, desert, empty space, dark void, black hole.

Use the instructions on page one for coming to 1.5 from stock. I believe the steps are to wipe dalvik, factory, and one other.... That should do it

From recovery do a wipe of data/factory. That wipes everything. Contacts, emails ,texts, apps ... Everything. The rom will wipe cache and dalvik for you when you flash.

No need to worry, unless you install LP again, they won't be used.

Ok KSmithInNY

Did just what you said, first I moved all my files that are in my SD Card
to a savedfiles folder, so all I have in the SD Card is your rom, and a folder named savedfiles.

I booted into recovery mode, did a wipe factory/data just like you said
I even did it twice, back on the main recovery screen I updated via zip file.

it loaded everything up, nothing I had before was there all gone, just 2 questions


1. i was rooted via z4root, its no longer there, is the phone no longer rooted, do I re install z4root...............

2. all my rigtones and notifications are double listed, 2 of every sound, and they both work if you select them, they are there even after a reboot.

any ideas??

if you weren't rooted you wouldn't have had a custom recovery, so you wouldn't have been able to install TR 1.5. So to answer your question, yes you're still rooted.

2. There is a folder on your SD card called sounds delete it.

1. and no do not reinstall z4, as you read on the custom recovery's page don't install clock work or any of that.

wifi was on earlier today, had a random restart, wifi just keeps saying error, anyone know whats going on?

when wifi stopped working i was just going to overflash TR 1.5 with 1.5, get an error

Ever since i flashed TR 1.5 i have a weird thing happening in the messaging app. When i open it and tap the message at the top it opens the thread at the bottom instead. It's done it since i first flashed 1.5 but it's never been a bother since i hit back and then reopen what i intended to the 2nd time. (2nd time it will go into the right thread) I just wondered if i was the only one. Touch responds correctly in everything else so i dont think it's an issue with the screen. Thanks for great ROM though.

Ive been enjoying my new rom, quadrent scores in the 1300s... but one problem im having.. my device randomly shuts itself off and restarts.. and Im running den kernals, deluxe buildprop, tr 1.5 and im of at 768.

Uhhh.. well my specs are up there in my last post.. my phone just randomly restarts.. there's no schedule to it..completely random.. but happens atleast once every two days. Also im noticing considerable lag on my stock non swype keyboard. Rather your texting, playing games or writting in forums... I've tested my phone with and without rims and kernels.. and its just happening with tr 1.5. So any help in fixing this is much appreciated and if you need anymore info let me know.

Awesome Rom! i love the speed of the phone now i'm running TR1.5 zefie's Kernal and overclocked to 806.

The only issues i am having is some freezing but always fixed with a reboot. Another problem i found was when the phone switches screens or menus they swap in a really choppy way, this doesnt happen on my phone anymore but i put the rom on my dads phone and his is having this issue. Does anyone know what i'm talking about or no of a fix? Re-Flash?

He claims that the 3g signal has became weaker but i think its just the phone not the rom


Update: i found the reason why the two phones were getting different animations between menus... one phone had the display setting 'animations' set to all and the phone with out the problem is set to 'some'.

You're going to have a few problems running at 806 ask my processor how it knows. The glitches aren't glitches they're transitions happening really fast. Read back in this thread for proof. If you're going to OC stay at or below 768 to not fry it as its a slow death. Reflash tr1.5 and wait for them to release their supported OC kernel no reason for OCing yet on this platfotm

Hey guys. my first post here. I just recently (about 2 days ago) switched to sprint from verizon. I went from an eris (which i also had rooted and was running custom roms on) to the optimus s. I love the phone and the new service and the first thing i did was root and run your rom (which i love by the way, great work!)

Only issue I have had with it is that my wifi is not working. It will continually scan and disconnect and will not actually connect to my internet.

I reflashed hoping it might help, but it has not. I currently have nothing extra installed. I have typed in the correct password and restarted my router and even tried to connect to other peoples routers with no success.

It worked before Installed the rom and i really do like it and would prefer to not get rid of it. Ty in advance and keep up the great work!

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I have looked through the forums and used the search function to try and find a fix but I couldn't find any.

did you do a full wipe before flashing the rom? A lot of people don't realize you need to do this, and it seems to be the cause of most of the problems.
