i seem to have had a problem with the sd card after flashing. would unmount fine but error trying to remount. and pulling it out and back in made it reboot than freeze tried battery pull works again havent messed around with it again though

I flashed my phone TR 1.5 now it stuck with fuzzy screen and can't shut off the phone. Please help me. Did I broke my phone and how can I go back to recovery? Nevermind, took off the battery and put back in, its cool now. Got me scared for a moment. One quick question how do get all apps I used to have before back? Forget it, I'll just download it all over again. I'm liking this TR 1.5 right now and thank you so much for this.

Weird issue but I have TR installed on both Optimus S phones in my house and for some reason both people who use them keep reporting that widgets will randomly move themselves a few screens over every once in a while.

All of a sudden the clock widget will be over on a screen by itself or the voicemail widget will be gone only to find it hiding on another home screen. This is TR 1.4 not yet 1.5

Fuzzy screen..looked liked colorized snow? ........I had that other day while using a gps app (geocache) removed batt. as well and was fine..thought it was a broken screen. Oh well no harm lol. Glad I wasn't only one.

No 1.4 support from the dev

This is TR 1.4 not yet 1.5

Have noticed applications launching, the dialer, when charging and am not interacting with the device. Have only guesses as to the behavior is due to the 1.5 or the phone. Both are new to me.

Restarted phone when it happens. Seems ok for some days afterward. Bottom line, I cannot help you. Just offering another data point to unexpected and undesired behavior.

Has anyone else noticed that the clock/weather widget that is included with the ROM has an alignment issue? When you turn the phone to landscape, the time within the widget jumps over to the left and isn't centered in the "boxes" anymore? Is this just me?

Thanks.

All notifications (ringtones, alarm, etc) are pushed to the SD card upon flashing so ...
1) If you do not have an SD card you do not have them
2) If you changed out your SD card and did not move them, you do not have them.

To fix reflash the ROM overtop of itself. No need to wipe anything just simply reflash the ROM and during the process it will push your notifications back to the SD card.

Are ringtones and notification sounds saved to the phone in stock phones and pushed to SD in TR1.5? if so is there a way to push then back to the phone because I'm experiencing the same issue of missing calls, texts, notifications, even an alarm and was late to work because SD card unmounted overnight and had no ringer. I formated my SD card like instructed on your suggestion from the SD thread with no luck. Also tried formatting using an official SDA formatter with no luck fixing unmounting issue.

Just thought id ask since these phones have a serious unmounting issue it would be nice to get ringers saved to phone instead of SD

Flash the new 1.5 and let us know if you have the same issues. If you do, my next suggestion would be to start clean and completely wipe the phone (flash, dalvik, etc) and then flash the rom. Of course, make a nandroid backup before wiping anything. Although if you really want to know if the issue is related to the rom itself or something else, I souls suggest syncing your contacts to google and just starting from scratch with 1.5. Yes, you will lose text messages, call logs, and all apps but this is the last resort (or the most complete way). Bottom line is you need to move to 1.5. Good luck. Let us know what happens!

From my understanding the tones are moved to the sd on thunderom. In order to solve this issue you will need to refer to the sticky in the optimus s section on how to solve this problem. There is definitely a 100% way to fix it. It involves purchasing a new card that is at least class 4 speed. This is the only known permanent fix. There are people that have solved the issue using different steps but the common denominator is a new memory card.... Read through the sticky in the optimus s section. It should give you a little more insight. Hope this helps.

Big Thanks and a Clarification Q

Been lurking this site for the last few weeks trying to learn as much as I can, in anticipation of my wife and I getting an Optimus S. I can truthfully say I've gone through all the threads in the Optimus S forums and many more in the general Android forums. A week ago, we got our phones and we used for a few days to ensure we hadn't gotten lemons. Then I rooted, installed custom recovery, and flashed the TR 1.5 successfully on my phone. First and foremost, "A BIG THANKS" for this rom. I'm generally very happy with this, except as others have noted, it seems a bit less smooth than the stock rom. I am anticipating cooking my own roms in the future, as I previously cooked and posted roms for the Sprint HTC Diamond on PPCGeeks.

The clarification question is in regards to the buildprops. On the standard flash, I'm getting ~7.5MFlops via the LinPack benchmark. I've been assuming that this is with the stock v9 buildprop. Is this in fact the case, i.e., is the buildprop in the rom the stock v9 version? And if so, and I switch to the JIT buildprop, should I expect an increase in the LinPack benchmark? I'm confused since it seems others are getting the ~7.5MFlops with JIT. Thanks in advance for all responses.

ThundeROM 1.5 has JIT which is providing your true benchmark speed improvement. The improvement seen in quadrant for stagefright is due to the current implementation of stagefright (in the optimus) being unable to read some media files so it gives it the highest score possible for that test.

In real world if you can't complete a test you receive a low score. Unfortunately with quadrant if the device can't complete a test then it gives it the highest available score. This is not a new revelation either, look back to when the samsung guys were doing their I/O hack to reduce lag but also produced a quadrant of around 3k or so. Their device wasn't really scoring 3k naturally but rather was getting the highest scores possible for the I/O resulting in crazy quadrant scores.

There is a plus side to enabling stagefright though and that's some audio and video apps specifically rely on stagefright to work. An example would be winamp. Winamp's shoutcast feature only works on 2.2 devices because 2.2 devices are supposed to have stagefright. Because shoutcast see's our device as 2.2 yet can't find stagefright (unless you enable it) you'll get errors.

Regarding JIT there is a bug associated with it but I don't think anybody really knows what the specific bug is. This is not speculation, right in the buildprop it states that JIT is disabled as a workaround for a bug. If you figure out what the bug is make sure you share it but I have no idea.

What it boils down to is this ....
1) JIT = Real life speed increase .... period.
2) Stagefright provides a false speed increase due to certain media formats nor working on our device
3) Without stagefright, certain types of apps won't work on our device
4) With stagefright, certain media types that used to work on your device will no longer work because you enabled stagefright and LG's implementation doesn't support that format (which is probably why they turned it off in the first place)

I took the time to provide a full breakdown and hope that you guys (the folks using the ROM) will kindly point people towards it the next time a "ThundeROM broke my (insert audio/video) app!!!!" post comes along :)

Thanks in advance

I've been on the sticky and no one replied to my issue. I have purchased an 8 GB class4 SanDisk and formatted it per instructions on the sticky. Still have lots of unmounting issues. Tried formatting it again using an official SDA formatting program as per instructions in the SD sticky with poor results as well. I've come to the conclusion that although it has worked for many people it isn't a true permanent fix as others I believe are still having problems after formatting with a new card as well.

That's why I was asking if there is a way to push ringtones/notifications back to the phone and instead of to the SD, then when SD does unmount overnight it won't be that big of a deal. I love TR, so reverting back to stock isn't an option!!!

i know i read it around the forum somewhere but cant seem to find it anymore...is there any way to use the froyo keyboard instead of the gingerbread keyboard on thunderom? i prefer the bigger buttons lol thx

The froyo keyboard was deleted according to post #1 in TR 1.5 and replaced with gingerbread one. If you wanted froyo keyboard back might just have to reflash TR 1.4 if its still on your SD card.

thx but i never had TR1.4...jus flashed 1.5 yesterday and it was my first flash....i read somewhere that you can pull the file (froyo keyboard) and jus replace it in the new rom but i dont have the file nor do i even recall how you would go about to replacing jus the keyboard...

Thank you for the very thorough explanation. Know it helped my understanding!

I've had the unmounting issues on the stock ROM out of the box..I don't see this being a 1.5 issue or any prior versions.

not sure if this was ever mentioned, but for anyone who likes the old animations you can flash over any of the themes and it will give you the stock animations back. you can also download spareparts to control speed and disable animations and transitions.
