Declined on trade in because of BS reason that simply isn't true

I traded in my old Note 4 with Verizon and received the email today:

"Thanks for trading in your used device. We've inspected it and have confirmed that the estimated value is accurate. Your monthly credit will appear on your bill in 1 to 2 billing cycles."

After reading this thread I was wondering if I had cleared my Samsung & Google accounts from the Note 4 properly before I did the factory reset. I guess I now know the answer.....

FYI, for the Verizon Trade-In the turn around time between Verizon receiving my phone (returned to Texas) and this email was 8 days. This included a weekend and the Labor Day Holiday. Bottom line is was 5 working days.

Got my email at 4 this morning. About time since they've had my trade-in since 8/27.

Nice! Time to relax.

Wow! This is a big jump. You're sure to notice a ton of improvements over the Note 4.

The trade in $$$ from Verizon & Samsung played a big part in my decision. The many improvements and features is icing on the cake. It will take me a while to get up to speed with all the improvements/features. One I still cannot get over is the Internet Speed increase I am seeing of 3-5+ times faster in the same places between the Note 4 & 10+.

I hear ya. The trade in $$$ was a big reason for me too. Glad to hear you are reaping the benefits of your upgrade.

It sure is. Funny thing is I got that email and then 2 days later I got another email telling me that my trade-in was being evaluated.
They read this thread and are re-evaluating your trade....

Hope much did you get for the Note 4?

Well....I almost wish I would've read this thread a little bit ago lol. I just ordered the note 10+ through Samsung because of what they offered for a trade in for the iphone x. I originally purchased from at&t on a whim and didn't shop around like I should have. Fingers crossed it works out!

Sooo did you guys not read/watch the step by step instructions provided by Samsung for both android and fruit devices? It plainly stated to remove Google and Samsung accounts first. Not bashing; just genuinely curious as to why so many didn't follow them. Maybe y'all had done the reset so many times that this was just business as usual. Or Pixel has a different reset pattern?

That's "girl talk" - right?

PS, I was in CT today. I waved at you, so I had to explain to my sister what a forum spouse is. And who 'Stang Stang and Mike, etc. are. Hilarity ensued. She said, "you n nem tech people got nuttin betta ta do den play wit dem droids n apples."😂

Translation from Cajun: You and those tech people have nothing better to do than play with those droids and apples.

To be honest, that video is the only place that says to do that, but in every document I've received from Samsung and even the written instructions on their site and when you place your order does not mention this at all. It mentions only to Factory Reset and at most - to remove any anti-activation locks. Also, the video has 552 views and you and I (just now) accounted for 2 of those views, so only a max of 550 people saw it assuming they all saw it only once. LOL

Whoa Nelly - you were in CT today and did not let me know?

Where in CT was U?

I like the way your sis talks - can I trade you 4 her?

I traded with Best buy . I didn't remove the accounts, never done it that way and never had that issue. hopefully Best buy won't come back saying your trade in failed.

Business as usually for me.... Totally my fault if it comes back.

Idk... All I know is Brad (my Google Maps guy) said welcome to CT. By the time I finished explaining who the major players were, he said welcome to NY. 😂

Yep! And that explains it! When you've performed an action numerous times you don't feel like you need to read instructions. It sounds like something has changed so I guess that's how people got caught up in the reset struggle. Always something...
