Deep sleep

So last night before going to sleep I switched the HRM to Always (to allow REM sleep detection) and the Register REM sleep detection to On.
Also, I used ear plugs to tighten the band.

My watch detected REM sleep, over 1 hour out of 6 hours total sleep, but no deep sleep (0m).
Tonight I will try what happens if I disable Register REM sleep but keep the HRM set to Always.

So I set the HRM to Always last night and Register REM Sleep to off.
The watch report this morning told me I have been sleeping restlessly all night. No deep sleep, not even light sleep.

Excuse me? I have been sleeping like a rock, actually, although there were some private circumstances that could explain me being restless.
I will try again tonight.

I loaded Sleep as Android for a comparison last night. I want to first day Sleep As Android is a serious battery eater on Galaxy Watch but might be worth it if you really need to check sleep. It used 30% overnight and the watch warned me early on it was eating battery(though I slept through it.

I had Sleep As connected to th watch for measurements. I compared it with the info of the watch tracker and they were not close. And they were both using the same sensor. I got almost 38% deep sleep on sleep as Android. The watch software registered 5%. Obviously that threw the other numbers off. From looking at the graph it was mostly REM sleep that it took from. I thought REM sleep was high on the watch compared to the Ionic also. Light sleep, which normally is your higher percentage, was off but not a lot. I didn't write it down.

So my conclusion, for what ever its worth, is that the watch sensor works great as other programs use it and it seems to register fine. I would say the sleep program on the watch /Samsung Health is the issue. For whatever reason it isn't getting deep sleep right. As I stated prior, you should be getting at least 20% deep sleep to feel best and well rested.

Clear and well done. Let's await an update that solves the issue.
