Foolish youngling, you have not examined your situation closely enough. Yes, a phone only does that which it is programmed to do, but it is the same with you. You are a machine of causation as much as the phone is. And do not kid yourself, youngling, with dreams of free will, because that's all they are, dreams; for if you are not a machine of causation, then all you may be is its negation, which is to say, that you are a machine of randomness, a thing of less evidence than the former option, and thus less justified. And then you make this grand claim that the phone has no thought. And on what grounds do you make this claim? The phone operates the same as you: It is causal, it has memory, it processes information. And on the grounds of these similarities we may conclude that it is the likely case that the phone does think, just as we conclude that it is the likely case that humans other than ourselves think.

And as to your "schedule" of the future, a laughable idea in itself, I suggest you watch the Terminator one more time. As you'll see, technology will be surpassing us long before then. And in terms of calculations, it already has, and by light years.

For example, if you were to speak to me face to face, I could cognitively decide if I should laugh at you or let my annoyance overcome me and force your phone down your throat. OR I could use your logic and attempt to fuse you and your phone together to create the worlds first cybernetic organism. Worst case, you die and I get a new phone. Best case scenario, you will have to charge your phone by plugging in your bum. (im not a scientist, but it seems like the best place to fuse a phone....)

Your underestimation of the human body is quite astounding. Go get a hemorrhoidectomy. You will then come to understand how the human body is an incredible machine. You will also understand the free will you have as everything you do has a very direct and a very noticeable outcome on your body. You are under the impression that machines and CPUs have surpassed us, when in fact it is still far off. Remember, you have the ability to make anything happen by your own free will. It is no one elses fault you lack aptitude to accomplish these goals.



But I digress.... I want you to test something for me, turn off your phone and submerge it for ten minutes. See if it turns on. Then I want you to stop breathing and submerge yourself for ten minutes. Report back with the results and let me know if machines are in fact superior.

You see, I have shifted the sources of my misery to more solvable things. Whereas you will suffer eternally at the deaths of those you love, I will give hardly a sigh at the deaths of mine; for I have shifted that burden of misery onto the fast tracking rails of technology, a thing which for every misery I have, will be relieved and resolved in quick and due time.
