Delete preinstalled apps?

If you don't know what root access is then you probably won't know how to remove the files.

Root will be available within a week, but the first root is normally only for the fearless as it usually involves complicated adb commands. Not saying you can't use this method - we all learn it eventually. But the easiest method is a one-click root which usually takes one to two months

If you want to grab the earlier root, then start learning adb tonight ;)

Not saying it won't take the time posted, but the Incredible took months to get root access, so don't hold your breath.

No, it had root pretty quick. What it didn't have for a long time was S-Off - and that's a completely different animal

Cheers :)

what's s-off??
An easier way to brick your phone :P

In a nutshell, S-OFF means that the NAND portion of the device is unlocked and can be written to. The default setting for HTC’s devices is S-ON, which means that neither can you access certain areas of the system nor can you guarantee a permanent root. Furthermore, signature check for firmware images is also ensured by the S-ON flag.
