Detecting Water in Port?

I connected a micro USB OTG drive to an "approved" micro USB to USB-C adapter from Anker. Every time I plugged the duo into my N7, a notification appeared telling me I have moisture in the USB port.

Somehow, the OTG/Anker adapter is non-compliant and presents like moisture in the USB port to the N7. My guess.

Not a biggie, plenty of work-arounds.
Just thought I'd share.

With further investigation, the Anker "approved" adapters work perfectly for charging.

Maybe there is something funky with the pin-outs on my OTG drive that I plugged the adapter onto, causing the "Moisture in USB Port" notification. Users of the S7 see the same thing when using random 3rd party cables. Gotta be a pin-out incompatibility.

We'll probably see more of this as N7 owners begin to buy more accessories to adapt to the USB-C port.

If you are referring to the Anker adapter (not the OTG drive) it's actually "fully approved" by Benson Leung. Benson has his approval write-up as the first review on Amazon. Since it works fine with my microUSB charger cables, I assumed it's the OTG drive that's the problem.

What are you using the Anker adapter on?

The Note 7. Trying to connect it to my PC. The PC has a hard time 'seeing' the phone. I can't open or transfer files from my phone.

Happened to me too when I used an adapter to connect to an external dac/amp. Was worried I messed up something.

I have notified Anker and the should be getting back to me sometime soon. I will update here when I find out something.
