Did FedEx try to steal my phone?

If there was no phone in that box, and the screen protector that was in that box was delivered, how can it be asked if Fedex attempted to steal a phone? And when saying Fedex, just accuse the driver or other employee since Fedex is a corporation and is inanimate and cannot steal anything.

Appears like many are accusing someone of a criminal act with no evidence. Not saying it doesn't happen, but saying it has happened with no proof is not right. There are probably other reasons that this could happen.

I hear you but hey, nobody called the police. I made a thread online posing a question. Cut us a break. Multiple ppl have reported missing items on here and on Reddit.

But I agree with you. It could have been a porch pirate. Or maybe a simple mishandling of the package. When I called FexEx I said the box is damaged and appears to be tampered with. They can take that for what they will.

To be fair, FedEx does have terrible customer service though, with a BBB rating that's in the toilet. What leads people to think so little of FedEx are things we can all agree have happened to us, specifically when going to go through FedEx. Here are things I KNOW have happened to you:

- getting the initial delivery date, then FedEx saying it'll be delivered earlier, then having the status in limbo with no tracking progress between then and the time you actually get the package

- getting the "package has been delayed" status with no specific information as to where it is, what's the delay, and a new estimate on delivery

- getting a new, earlier delivery date, then not getting it until the initial projected delivery date

- no status update for days at a time on why your package has not moved from the facility in location x, only to have it suddenly be delivered

I've personally tweeted at FedEx and I've gotten someone from the official account to respond for the whole world to see, and they say to DM them with specifics, which turn into nothing.

Long story short, FedEx is the worst of all 3 options, and I honestly wish less companies went through that mom and pop operation.

I just went thru all those scenarios with FedEx on my daughter's phone. It's sad, but I think samsung is rating better for service and customer service. FedEx has slipped to the worse delivery service out there.

On these trade INS, can we ship them via UPS if we pay for our own shipping? I'm doubting it since Samsung uses the tracking number. I would gladly pay for my own shipping to avoid using FedEx.

Yes, I was very pleased that Samsung made the process easy. Needless to say, I was pretty concerned before I contacted them!

Samsung must be losing out financially with all the new ultra spendy disappearing phones they're shipping out and trading in through CrookEx... seems like it might be financially wiser to pay for a better shipping company than ConEx, the lost money and hit to their reputation, along with people opting to not trust shipped pre-orders and trade-ins in the future, would probably be well offset by paying more for a reputable shipping company.

FailureEx has had multiple major hubs busted over the last couple of years for stealing large numbers of weapons, ammunition, electronics, and anything else of value. Definitely a buyer beware situation  ;)

I like the new name, failureEx.

I would think FedEx would be paying Samsung for those phones lost, stolen.

This is how my package looked when I opened it on 3/2. Gave it right back to the driver and refused delivery. I've probably spend 6 hours on the phone with Samsung and FedEx trying to get it squared away so I can get my refund.

Is it possible to love a comment and hate it at the same time? Geez, there are few things that make me feel more vulnerable than having my privacy invaded and my personal property violated.

other than the lithium battery warning, I don't recall anything on my box saying Samsung. I think it can be a combo of both! Low wage fedex warehouse workers and the distribution center employees. Some of the pics of the packages show no tampering to the tape. I do think a few were probably honest mistakes at the distributor someone forgot to slip the phone in.

We didn't see this last year with the Samsung phones.

As I said before with the labor shortage it's very likely they're skimping on hiring standards at the distributor so they're likely hiring some shady people they wouldn't normally hire. I hate to say it if you put ones with past criminal convictions, low wages around high dollar items like this then you're going to have this.

Fedex and UPS also pays low for the warehouse too. They probably see the lithium batter warning on the box and know it's something electronic.

Just like with firearms and shipping as well as flying commercial. They label the outside of the box lol. What easier way to invite a felon saying "steal me." Why mark a box firearm?

I think my next phone I will order from Amazon. Yea I will get the phone 3 days later but the piece of mind if it gets lost and I can have it shipped to a locker!

I too am thinking about Amazon -- or actually going to a Best Buy and buying it outright. I just refuse to ever buy through my carrier again.

Just had it happen to me with Amazon for $7 avery lables lol. Prime driver dropped it off at my door. Went out to get it and nothing in it. The envelope was totally sealed up though. In this case the person at the warehouse didn't put anything in the envelope.

I think in this case it was probably a p*ssed off warehouse worker did it on purpose. The package wasn't tampered with. The Amazon operator said they get this sometimes.

I actually ended up getting my phone from best buy. I got tired of Samsung messing up my orders. I was able to order the phone I want with trade in. Pd and it was scheduled to be available for pickup in 7days. I actually received email a day early. Went to store did my trade in and gave my phone now for 8 days.

I had ordered an iPhone 12 pro directly from TMobile, and when it was delivered, the FedEx guy left it in front of the clubhouse of the complex where I live. It was just on the floor, and thank goodness no one picked it up and walked away with it.

Anyway, John Oliver did a great piece on trucks, more specifically, truck drivers. Included in this group are FedEx and Amazon delivery drivers, who I learned actually aren't employed by those companies. It was eye opening, and explained why so little care is given to our packages...It's because they can't afford to care enough.

Thank goodness no one walked away with it! I usually order phones online, and now I gotta say that I'm worried about doing so...

Yeah, I put the address in, but when I was talking to the customer service rep to confirm my order, they read it back and excluded the unit number of the house within the complex's address. I said, "I don't see the unit number in the order info", and they said, "it's okay, we got it".

Lo and behold, the day it was supposed to arrive came, and there was no package in front of the door or in the mailbox. It was marked as delivered, so I thought I'd try the one place it shouldn't be, which was in front of the clubhouse, right on the sidewalk, all alone, where literally no other packages are ever left for delivery.

Sufficed to say, I was upset, but their response was that what was done was done, and at the end of the day, I got my phone anyway, so no harm no foul. Yikes.

I have routinely received Fedex packages left in front of our overhead garage door! It's a miracle nobody has backed over something. Oh, and our front door is within eyesight of the garage doors, which have no pedestrian entry door at all.

Same problem with FedEx. Phone hasn't moved in days. Keep telling me for the last week, tomorrow, tomorrow.
