Have you upgraded yet from your V20? HTC 11 is praised by high reviews, however don't think I'll ever buy a phone without a headphone jack, plus it's made of slippery glass. S8 has weird design, infinity display with that new aspect ratio makes the screen look smaller. LG G6 is pretty much a small downgrade. The OnePlus 5, it has great specs but to me is still kinda boring. Still hanging on to the V20, probably for a while.

Edit: The only phones I'm thinking that's worthy of upgrade is the Huawei P or Mate series or OnePlus. Waiting for the Galaxy S8 Active.

To be honest with you.....

....the only phones that may/will catch my interest are the V30 and Note 8....thats it. If those phones don't bring anything above mine, I'll be rocking my V20 for some time as well!

Considering there's nothing else out there with all the features of the V20 and equal or better performance, jumping ship would mean a leap into the abyss of nothingness.

Same here, there's nothing really exciting anymore. The V series is the only one that has many features packed into a phone. Note 8 will be an excellent device, just fingers crossed that it won't be super curvy like the S8.

32GB, no Quad DAC, smaller screen, no IR blaster., no removable battery. Well some people don't use those things but I still do.

SLIGHTLY smaller screen, except for Youtube which you like to talk about.. Smaller form factor, more premium feel (yes it does have more of a premium feel) - removable battery is a debate based on opinion. I've had phones with both.. This battery lasts a lot longer than the V20's native battery... no quad dac is only a thing if you don't use bluetooth headphones.. How many phones actually still have an IR Blaster (i missed mine until i found my remote haha), the 32GB thing doesn't bother me and most because we have SD card capability. I have a 120GB chip that I got from LG... Water resistance which has definitely come in handy and wireless charging is amazing on my desk at work.. I get 6+ hours of SOT, better wide-angle camera.. slightly optimized camera software..

You give a little and take a little, but to call it a downgrade isn't true. To many it's an upgrade.

Switch to What? Unfortunately for me I have to use Verizon, we live in N.C. mountains, so there is not anything we like by them.
V20 for at least another year, maybe more.
Until ar or vr become very main stream, no reason to change.
Not a gamer and the V20 is perfect for what my wife and I do on our V20s

The 16MP to 13MP can be subjective, I think the larger megapixels are better because it can capture more details especially in far distances like leaves or street signs.

I jumped, and I took a huge leap to the dark side. Been a week now and I haven't looked back. :-p

The V series is a higher end niche line and pound for pound it would and should be the superior product if we compare models from the same generation, but to be fair you will need to compare the G6 to the V30.

Oh... And that premium feel thing is not a tangible item. I would never consider glass premium because of its fragility. Shiny....yes....nice looking....maybe, but premium....never. My definition of premium may be different than yours but I'll take metal over any other type of composition out there. I'll take Kevlar or even plastic over glass, but I'm looking at durability and not aesthetics. With a metal or Kevlar back you can actually go without a case. You can't say that about glass no matter how careful you are....eventually you will drop it and the odds of breakage warrant the use of a case which disolves any so called premium feel.

When I say premium feel, I mean the feel in hand. If you remember when the phone dropped, everyone was talking about how this phone feels in hand.. Also all the reviews.. It's odd I do have to say, because it's glass, but it does "FEEL" more premium, I'm not saying that it'll last longer in a drop or in durability tests, but it feels more premium.

If that works for you fine... I'm not suggesting it doesn't feel better for you. I just don't subscribe to the term premium feel and if I did I would say that metal feels more premium than glass so that's why I think the term is silly. Its not something measurable so if we were to feature compare several phones I don't think we can check off boxes to say one phone is premium or more premium than another.

Didn't really "jump ship" so to speak, I still have my V20 but really have been wanting to try out a Huawei Mate 9, so I bought a slightly used one from Swappa, after using the Mate 9 for the past two weeks, I really do not see where the Mate 9 is any better of a phone than the V20. The battery life on the Mate 9 is pretty good and haven't had it need to be charged during a full day yet, had a few times where it was down around 10% at night but never had to charge it before the day ended. Size, hardware and software wise I really don't see much difference between these phones. So for a comparison, with the prices of the V20 these days, I would still say the V20 has an advantage over the Mate 9, better price, and still can not beat the removable battery for needing a fast charge. Probably going to sell the Mate 9, and try not to spend the money :) and see what the V30 turns out to be.

I'm not as concerned with the difference between 16MP and 13MP. If you are printing large pictures or cropping photos and blowing them up, then you will see a difference in the megapixels. It's the camera's sensor (the part that lets in light) and aperture. I believe the G6 has a F1.8 aperture, as does the V20. So I'm not sure you will see any difference in pictures between the two.

Great comparison. Thought about buying a used Mate 9 to see how it was like. V20 is still the greatest in my book.

If you pinch to zoom, you can see loss in quality. Went from a 12MP S7 (which had a great camera), to the V20 and noticed my outdoor sunset shots are more crisp in detail compared to the S7. For example, a bird flying in the air you can see better detail, for the 12MP camera it's pretty blurred out. But the trade-off is the dual pixel technology on the Samsung phones.
