The first was just a hard transparent plastic, something better than the first tpu one from Mobilefun. Then I realised I better get something I won't be afraid to have my phone in the first weeks, so I got two more hybrid cases that promise edge protection.

I'm not ordering a case until I see the revealed specs k. Aug 23rd and possibly waiting until I can see a model of the phone on best buy display to see in person. With the 8+I think they had those day after reveal. biggest factor for me:depends on down payment lol

I agree Amy, I still have a case, a screen protector and a car charger for a Pixel XL that I cancelled the order on, because I ordered them in advance of the phone and have never been able to sell them, even at almost "giveaway" prices! Live and learn!

Well got my case from Amazon today. Pretty sturdy for a cheap case. Definitely going to be taller. And I've practiced reaching for where the FPS will be and does just fine for me.

So all these manufacturers selling cases already. How is it done? Does Samsung just give out units and have them pay a fee and sign non-disclosure agreements? Meanwhile, most of the big producers don't have accessories for sale yet and won't even say when they will have them.

Lol that's a good question I would like to know too. I'm hoping the one I got actually fits the note 8. It looks like it will. If all the rumors are correct that is.

I've wondered the same thing. I order cases early every year and they haven't been wrong yet. I have 3 cases and it hasn't even been officially announced! Who gives them the specs? Why aren't the larger manufacturers in on it?

I think they want it to be right the first time.

These unknown cases are probably made for pennies and you are spending $3-10 on each.. they dont care if it's not perfect and honestly.. neither do you because you know youll get a "better case" when your favorite brand releases theirs.

The better known brands would rather wait and get things perfect, as one bad or ill fitting case could ruin their profit margin greatly. Or a month or 2 into sales they have to redesign the whole thing because it doesnt fit. When that happens the good brands ship free replacements to customers with the old design. More money wasted instead of earned.
