Disabling Gmail Preview Snippets

Hey guys,

I'm trying to get my wife into a Galaxy Nexus. The Nexus came yesterday and she thinks it's cool (I love it of course). One thing is bugging her though, and it may be a deal breaker: the two line preview that Gmail gives for every email. She likes a cleaner look that just has the sender and the subject listed (like the iPhone). She also thinks the snippets raise privacy concerns, as someone who is looking over her shoulder would see the text of emails instead of just the sender and subject.

I've looked all over and can't find any mention of how to turn off the Gmail preview snippets. Is there any way to do this?

EDIT: should note that the snippets also appear in the generic Email app, too. So she'd like this disabled as well.

Thanks!

Does no one know, or does no one care? Just want to make sure if I should pursue this elsewhere. Thanks.
