disappointed in battery life [Samsung Galaxy S7]

I'm on auto brightness and I have location on middle, I don't turn location off, I will say I get a ton of work email and calendar updated per day, this also contained an hour of YouTube and tons of texting and an few calls.

I do not have Facebook on messenger as I use metal as an wrapper instead.

Now that you say that I think I will try location off today, is there much reason other than gps?

I'm extremely happy with the battery life so far. This morning was my first test. On my S6 I would go into the gym at 100%, and by the time I was done 2.5 to 3.0 hours later it would be down to about 39%. During my gym times, I'm using location, bluetooth, Wi-Fi constantly and the screen is on 100% of the time.

With my S7, I started out at 95% charge, and was down to 70% charge. I'd say that's a pretty big improvement.

Android system continues to be 70% or so of my battery drain. I migrated my S6 to this phone. Should I give it a day or two and see if it evens out?

Android system has been number one every day since I go the phone as well as android OS as number 2, I don't even know what the difference is between system and OS as I have never seen the OS showing on any other phone I have had.

It is very frustrating. I am thinking about doing a reboot because maybe i carried a bug over with me when i transferred from my s6 to s7. I dont want to do that if people don't think it will make a different though. Thoughts?

me too. unplugged at 8AM today. took 40 minutes to get to my office and I was already down to 90%.
I'll probably be picking up the Mophie or Samsung Battery case

Been at work all day with the phone in my pocket so Doze hasn't been given a chance to activate (why oh why did Google wait until Android N to create a fully useful Doze). Had a 20 minute long conference call and my workplace is in a very poor signal area (centre of a shopping mall). Half hour of SOT with 78% left isn't impressive but now that I'm out of the poor signal area hopefully things will improve this evening.

2nd day of usage here. Upgraded from an s5 and I'm very happy with everything, except battery life. If I look at this thing the wrong way it drops 20%. I've read here that battery life improves and I certainly hope it does.

So it seems the KNOX application might be a culprit of my battery drain. it doesn't show up in the "battery" section. However, when I open it up in the application catalog to try and disable it shows 5% battery drain since last charge. So i think this is masking itself as part of the "Android System" high consumption issue I am having. I can't find anywhere to uninstall this app. I googled and it said just go into the app settings and uninstall. However, its not in my app drawer and also can't be disabled like other apps. Thoughts on this? could i be on to something?

Verizon version, 32gb. Battery life is mediocre at best...nothing to write home to mom about. I'm not a power user....really just text, music, browsing and phone conversations...no gaming or development.

Same as the user above, I have about a 40-50 minute commute and the battery ran down to 90%. I use Spotify, but didn't have it synced this morning.

Android System is around 30%...trying to disable a few things to better the battery.

I'm switching from a Galaxy S5 with t-mobile to the regular S7 with t-mobile.
Only on my first day but for what I'm go doing I'm not on impressed
The s5 had a bad battery life after some of its updates
And the difference in battery size from the S5 to S7 is only 150 maH
So I'm going to wait a week
If I don't like the battery life after a week I'm going to exchange for the S7 edge

why wait -- do it yesterday.

The bigger battery is the thing that makes me want to trade in my S6 for the 7. But, I remember when I first got the 6,batery life was spectacular (50% left after a day's work) and it suddenly dropped a few months into using it. What if I get the S7 and same happens? Maybe waiting for Android 6.0 is the better choice...

I'm very impressed so far. My 2nd full day of use and I've really used this thing a lot today. Been at work which is in a very poor signal area, taken >1.5 hours of phone calls, used the camera loads with GPS location on, browsed the web and used Tapatalk a lot. Auto brightness on all the time as well as 4G/3G data.

Now that's strange. Battery life was always terrible on the S6 for most users and reviewers. Now it's being praised.

Bump... Does anyone else see this or know how to disable?

My S7 is useless. I have to have a phone with more than 3 1/2 hours of battery life and one that is not hot to the touch.
I got it today and will return it tomorrow.
