Discount for Note 7 owners

Look for the same VR/Sd card bundle, now the headphone package as well. They're going to ask $950 because people will pay it. Because of of the $200 trade in deal and an employee offer I have two s8 phones for $280 so Im no longer unhappy with Samsung.

Even after paying around $240 to rent an s7 Edge for 8 months that I did not want.

Samsung has done everything it needed to do (returns/refunds) with the Note 7.

Also - unless this thread gets nasty, there's no reason to close it. If you don't want to see it anymore, stop replying. :)

Maybe Samsung should charge former Note 7 owners MORE for the Note 8 for the hassle of all the people who made a big deal out of returning it and/or didn't return it, etc.

Or blacklist them for a whole year! No Note 8 for you!:p

The discount is only in South Korea and only for those who financed their Note 7 and returned them for an S7 or S7 Edge. What they are doing is allowing those customers to "trade in" their S7 to pick up the Note 8 and they won't have to worry about the remaining balance due on their S7, which I guess would technically be like $300-$400 off.

Thanks for setting us straight :)

I still have my Gear VR (from S8+) promo with the remote still in the box, never has been used. I thought I would just sell it but I never got around to it. I can't use it... Anyone want to buy a Gear VR? Lol

It's a tough sell. ;) I was able to get a brand new in box one (probably a freebie) for 50. Yes the 2017 model. ;)

Yeah, that's the problem. Samsung unloaded so many of them for free that most everyone who wanted one has one, and those that don't can come by one rather cheaply. $50 seems to be a common going rate. That's the price I got when I unloaded one of the two headsets I got for free when I picked up two S7's (bogo) deal last year.

I wish they or Tmobile did something. You might recall it took me almost FOUR months to get a refund from Tmobile for my Note 7. I finally got a competent person on Tforce who got on the ball and processed it correctly or pushed the right buttons higher up. It was to the point I was ready to go to the local news stations and the attorney general.

Reason why I ordered my S8 Plus directly from Samsung this time because I didn't feel like giving Tmobile my money again after that. For the Note 8 when the price goes down I might purchase it through Best Buy when they get unlocked versions.

Your ENTIRE ordeal with N7 was a hoot. I clearly remember you almost losing it when others were getting tracking numbers and shipping notices but you weren't. And that awful return process... I'm glad to see you back with us! Man I can't wait till pre orders go live 😄

Oh no! God I hope not! I bitched too (but nicely) but I came to my senses and knew they had to do it. the bad part about that is we had to give them up twice! that's what I was upset about, but they have stepped up to the plate and they're coming out with this Note 8 a lot sooner than I thought they would and I will be a happy camper if they price it right and I could care less about any promotions.

Heck, I think I'd pick up on of the Note 7's that have been refurbished if they sold them here in the U.S.. While I don't expect any discounts for Note 7 owners, I'm betting within a couple of months of release they will do the same promos they are pushing on the S8 variations.

The problem with the return process is that the store I returned it at screwed it up and only refunded me tax. Then a couple weeks passed and no refund and then I went back to the store but because it was past 14 days there was nothing in their system they could do to process it correctly. Then calling Tmobile and Tforce I got the run-around each time, getting different responses and each time they said give it a week and it would be back on my card and then that is when the months started passing. They originally wanted to give me a $800 credit on our phone bill even though I paid in full when I ordered it.

I'm not pre-ordering this time. My S8 Plus works great and I'm NOT shelling out $1000 bucks on a phone. I'll let the price drop and snag one when there is a sale so I don't get burned. I'm not in a hurry this time. I got a phone with a big screen. I hope with sales they're $150-200 off.

I'm certainly not trading my S7 Edge in to Samsung if they do that stupid promotion again and only want to give me $25 for my mint condition S7 Edge.

Can't blame u for that. I certainly wouldn't trade even my N4 for $25.

In a few months when prices drop, do those prices apply to upgrades or only when you buy outright?
