This is the extent of their obligation. But they went above and beyond that. Free gifts, bill credits, discounts on the new device, etc.
The gifts came with the phone, only bill credit I got was for the payments I made on the N7, I only got the S7E after the N7, so I haven't gotten any discounts on another phone. IIRC, I got 100 to stay with Samsung. IMO, None of that equates to giving me back my N5 and resetting my upgrade. I get where you're coming from, but it just doesn't fly for me.
