Discussion of the Fascinate root How-To

Thanks again I thought it would go the last time but it didn't work, even though the computer was seeing the phone it gave me the device not found error. Part of the problem with the computer was a registry error. I ran Glary uts and the one click ran better, I didn't lose the phone but still no luck.

Not yet I have been busy but I am planning to do it tonight
Do I download the zip to my phone or PC then extract it to the phone?

OK I am going to change my name to wee Todd.... I can't even get the update zip file to my sd card, I was just going to pull the card and plug it into the computer but can't find the card adapter.... what a pain this is LOL

What zip are you referring to

My son was unsuccessful at rooting my Fascinate he believe he has soft bricked my phone :O( he is trying now just to get back to stock. Please help! Says he followed direction to a tee used only PDA button but could never get it to actually load up after the gigantic yellow triangle. Have I ruined my phone?

Please help.. Thank you

New to rooting, have no idea what I'm doing lol

Hi I've never rooted my phone before and am not quite sure what to do. I'm coming from stock EA 28 but wood like to try out super clean 2.8. What do I need to root? Will I lose all my text messages I have in the process? Can I back up my phone in case of trouble? lol help someone

A lot of people spend a lot of their time creating threads that answer all of these questions..

no ones trying to be a jerk. but if you dont take the time to read and research for your self you wont know what to do if you brick your phone. most of us here enjoy helping folks out, but we cant walk everysingle person step by step through what to do. thats what the stickies are for. read, read, read. if you run into problems, ask your question in the appropriate thread. if you cant find a thread to meet your problem, THEN post a new one. good luck to you. you wont be sorry you decided to root.

Was this resolved?

a question about rooting my phone

hey guys i am trying to root my fascinate my problem is every time i try installing the update.zip file it will start downloading and than a yellow explanation mark pops up what am i doing wrong????

If this wasn't resolved then here's your help. You need to go under the tools of the trade sticky, and find the "returning to stock" section. There is one file that you flash via odin that basically fixes everything.
