Display brightness outdoors

I currently have a Galaxy S3, is the display on the Galaxy S5 much brighter outside or should I keep what I have?

I currently have a Galaxy S3, is the display on the Galaxy S5 much brighter outside or should I keep what I have?

My dad has an s3. I have the S5 Active and my active is brighter. Not by much. But it's awesome

The S5 Active also has this saturated super bright mode that will come on when it detects direct sunlight. It's great for things like maps or basic email but makes everything else look washed out. This is the first phone I've had do this and I appreciate it as I have a convertible and the maps are now legible when my top is down.
