Display "Snoozing" on Stay Awake?

I do a lot of music bluetoothing in my car (Pandora, Spotify...), and like to keep the display active to see the song information; and also Galaxy Voice is fun.

Guy at AT&T store showed me how to set up "Stay Awake" when power docked in the developer settings. However the S4 seems to have this power saving mode that I call "snoozing".

It seems that about 5-7 seconds before the Screen Timeout is set (i.e. 15 seconds, 30 seconds, etc) the screen goes into what appears to be a 40 to 60 percent dim mode (basically so dim I can't read the display). When in the Stay Awake, the screen still goes into this snooze dimming. If I touch the screen, it "awakes" to full brightness.

So, every time I want to see the display, I have to touch it, which 7 of 8 times means I end up activating something on the screen! Quite annoying.

Anyway, I've talked to many, searched many forums, and played with every setting that I can conceive of, and still no way to disable this SNOOZE!

Any solutions out there?

Is your brightness set to Auto? Have you tried cranking it all the way up when using in your car?

I have the same issue, and like you have searched high and low, and have tried every setting. I keep the S4 in a charging cradle at work, and the dimming feature is really annoying. If I find a solution, I'll post it here...hope you will as well.

Will do. Do you know what this setting is called? Is hard to search for a solution without the rit question

Hello,

Two things I can think of:

1. Get an app that keeps the screen on based on application running. Search Google Play for "Keep Screen On". There some free apps that should do the trick (Nikolay's one seems to fit your requirements).

2. Also, might be worth checking your settings for accessories (under My Device).

Hope that helps.

Issue resolved! Thank you Nata_Panya, that app works perfectly. And thank you, efgpa, for starting this thread.

Yep this issue is RESOLVED!

I used app "Keep Screen On". It stopped the display snooze. I just use the app for when charging, so I can't speak to all the other uses of this app.
Thank you Nata_Panya. Keep tuned for my other posts/issues/questions....
