DJ05 GPS Fix for DI01 Users

Sitting in a cab right now; thank god his gps works because mine is total ****. Tried every trick; gps test and restarting and downloading the agps data. Nothing is working, good thing I don't rely on this turd.

LOL sorry you're having a bad night! Breathe buddy...

My gps seems to be locking faster after this hack. Thanks!

Second cab ride, same story. By the third, it snapped right in as soon as I started google maps and had no problem. I wish it would just make up it's mind to be broken or not.

my gps locks up like in 2seconds after installing dj05modem / jt's super clean 0.5 rom/voodoo5 kernel combo. so far....this is like the best set up i'd ever had. super clean 0.6&0.7=> bluetooth not working atm

I installed this before I downgraded my stupidfast kernel. It seemed to work better before the downgrade. Is it a good idea to flash it again or am I just having a placebo effect?

It takes a LOT of testing to come to the point where you can be comfortable saying it "just works" or not. Trust me. My gps has had good days and bad days, before and after the "upgrade". I will say the AGPS activity seems faster as a whole, but there are still just as many hiccups where it just won't do jack ****.

How can I be sure that I've overwritten the original .apk file? The only option I get at that point is too extract..which I did. This put a copy, I think, beside the zip file. I then tried to move the copy over the original, did the permission fix and reboot. Can someone tell me if I did this right?

Did you get a popup asking if you wanted to overwrite the file? If so and you chose yes, then you did it. You can also check the timestamp of the file by long pressing on it then selecting properties. If the date from the one in the zip matches the one in your system/app folder, they're the same file.

I didn't get any pop up..so I guess not. I am surely missing something here. :(

I attempted to do this again and it did give me that message. Thanks! It appears to be locking almost instantly now :)
