Do animated widgets use more battery power?

Just wondering...I have the live jelly fish home screen wallpaper, the youtube widget, the photos widget, the stock weather widget, among others on my homescreens. These widgets are set to auto-refresh every so often. Anyone know if these widgets use more battery power? Or does it not matter?

Yes, widgets that update and live wallpapers do use more battery. You just need to keep an eye on your battery usage, to see if you can live with it.
