Do I even want to upgrade to One UI?

True all auto updates are off however not sure it stops system or security updates. I have Google and samsung apps turned off and on wifi only which I hardley use. But heres hoping

It's worked for me in the past... no updates of any kind when auto is off and I don't check manually.

I still have the rectangle screenshot from the edge panel. Maybe yours got disabled during the upgrade?

Also, give One Hand Operation+ a try from the Galaxy App store. It adds swipe functions from the sides of the screen. I use that mostly for the back function.

Ooh, interesting! When you mentioned One Hand Operation+ the first time, I thought you meant One Handed Mode and couldn't see what you were getting at!
I've just downloaded HO+. I like it, especially last app with a long swipe. And all configurable, too.
Thanks so much for the tip. Gestures everywhere now, so much to play with and not a button in sight!

Am I the only one who hates how it looks? I miss my old notifications, colors, shapes of things etc. I especially miss hiding my buttons, so now I just use the gestures. Learning to love them, but now my keyboard has this weird grey bar at the bottom no matter what..

I don't know what FNGs are. But Good Lock 2018 doesn't work at all. Every feature says 'unplugged'. Based on previous updates, it may be a while before Good Lock 2019 is released. I really like the experimental stuff the Good Lock team come up with, so I'm looking forward to that.

Fluid Navigation Gestures is awesome. Removes the stock Nav bar and adds awesome Navigation Gestures that are very customizable. And I really don't want to give up Good Lock 2018. I need to some solid benefits to upgrade or I will stay with 8.1 Oreo.

I just noticed one features in Package Disabler Pro - you can turn off (disable) OTA updates.

If you buy thru Google Play, you have to deal with Google disabling or removing it and pay again small fee. Otherwise buy it just once via their online web store, only once.

I think you might be happy with One UI gestures instead of Nav Bar and One Handed Operation+ gestures in that case. The former aren't so customisable but give you 100% screen at all times if you disable the guides. It's very fluid. The latter offer plenty of customisation.
I use Nova Prime and I've got gestures in the launcher too, so I'm now swiping all over the place, it feels great.

You might miss Good Lock a bit, but I'd say it's still worth the upgrade.

The Ticwatch is not run on tizen., I think it should be ok . I have one but dont use it much , I think it's by Google so should get better updates

It is working fine. Unfortunately, One UI and Pie are mostly garbage. Wish I knew that in advance

I don't really have much choice. It does look like themes have to be updated to the one ui and some of my themes are available to download, but don't show up in the store.

Overall, I'm not that impressed by it. There just isn't much that I think of as a noticeable improvement

Well you have night mode now through Ui and full gestures to name a few .

Night mode doesn't work with themes. I have no idea what the full gesture is about
