Do I even want to upgrade to One UI?

But it seems there's no shortcut to get you straight into your last app. You have to bring the list up and select it instead.
With buttons, you just double tap (for me) the left button and it takes you straight in - no list is displayed. It's super convenient.

Yeah I understand what your saying but never tried that when I was in beta so not sure how to get into that quickly

+1 for the UI and also the display being a bit sharper and cleaner

But if want you still can use buttons or try play around with the swipe action and see if can figure it out . Double swipe or half swipe like that .

Double tap on recents takes me back to last app. In both Pie beta S9+

Tap and hold recents is nice too.
Both still exists. Better more refined on Pie.

Now if final post beta is different then that's unlikely and another story.

3 days on pie one ui in the UK. battery life is amazing. 6hrs 23 min screen on time with 21% battery left. looks good as well... very happy.

Are there any wifi dropping problems with Pie. I'm hopeful this problem has been fixed. As of now my biggest complaint with note 9 is wifi connection issue when 6 other devices stay connected perfectly well. I shouldn't have to play games with my router and settings. This is a awesome phone. Here's to a fix. Cheers!

Thanks also @Mustang
I've just enabled the gestures. Really cool but it will take a bit of getting used to! I think I'll persevere, though. When it becomes second nature, it will be great.

Yeah I'll have to get used to it to but think I'll love it lol

Yes.. like how Samsung implemented it
Even if you dont hide them they a very small at bottom of the screen you barely notice them but they help guide which to use.
Your welcome:)

Awesomeness. Thanks again. Can't wait til Verizon sends it out. Or is Samsung themselves sending it out?

Yeah it's just something of a minor change for me as I got used to the Oreo way of doing things but by no means is it a negative, it's basically the same.
I find battery life pretty much the same as before, the UI itself seems to look sharper and cleaner also.

Gotcha. Thanks for your response. Can't wait.

Oh. Can't have AOD on at same time? Heard there was a tap option for AOD too where you can set to where nothing on screen until you tap screen and AOD will show

There's a delay , schedule,and turn it off...

Edit: might work with delay never tried it.

I've seen a lot of posts in Reddit regarding various issues after upgrading. I'm wondering if maybe it would be good to wait.

Amazing look (except for some icons), but still buggy! Phone freezes especially if you're typing faster. Sometimes device is getting hot without reason, apps are put to sleep and you can't get notifications on time sometimes and battery life just isn't good enough (compared to 8.0)

The Note didn't come with 8.0, it was 8.1.

And sounds like buggy apps or setup, not Pie. Factory reset, clear cache after 4 days. And do a clean setup w/o restoring. I think you'll like it. Might even win you over.

I've figured out the recent/ last app issue. The new way is you swipe right and hold from the very bottom of the centre of the screen (ie from the very bottom of the home gesture area). It gives you a fast way to select the most recent (or any other open) app. Pretty cool but again, will take a bit of getting used to.
