Do Motorola update their phones?

Hi all

I am looking for a new phone on a budget and the new Moto G5S Plus checks my boxes quite well.

I like to use my phones for a few years - my Nexus 5 I had for 3 years until it died - so I wonder, how is Motorola's track record in terms of software updates and continuous support?

Alternatively I have been looking at the Nokia 6 as Nokia explicitly advertise timely and continuous software updates for their new Android phones, but I am not too impressed with the Snapdragon 430 SoC, and the Nokia 8 is out of my budget.

Feel free to share any other thoughts on the G5S Plus or other recommendations!

Updates to budget phones are normally limited to 18 months or less. The Moto G5S Plus is scheduled to receive Oreo. I don't think you'll see any updates past that.

G5S Plus looks be a hit phone.
And just like G4 I think Motorola will come to it's senses and update it to Android P.
Otherwise worst case scenario is that it will be stuck on Oreo.
Good luck.

My Moto 4 play is still on 6.0.1 and Feb security patch. But the I think the g5 and new Moto x 4 line will get timely updates.
