Looks like the March update/feature drop won't be available today for those of us on Google's latest decive

I know it's not a huge deal overall because we will get it eventually ... and maybe it's Googs playing it safe given the cluster you know what the last feature drop caused, but still bad optics having years old phones and budget phones getting updates before your 5-6 month old flagship.

https://www.droid-life.com/2022/03/07/march-google-pixel-update-available/

"The March Google Pixel update is rolling out starting today to the Pixel 3a, Pixel 4, Pixel 4a, Pixel 5, and Pixel 5a. You’ll notice I didn’t mention the Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro and well, that’s because they are getting their updates “later this month.” Google didn’t say why there was another delay for their newest phones ... Oh no, I think the world is ending. My Pixel 6 is not getting an update today, the sky is falling!

Just kidding. If I have to wait a little longer, so be it. I'm confident Google will get this sorted out soon and get the 6 series on track with all other Pixel models.

Yeah, not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but gives the vibe that Google may be struggling with an in house chip? I maybe way off on that ... but haters certainly gonna spin it that way LOL

Hardware people need to talk to software people, software people need to talk to hardware people, app people need to talk to both.....etc. Probably some growing pains at HQ

I know overall it isn't a big deal, but still waiting longer for my Verizon purchased flagship device to be able to get C-band 5G on Verizon's own network after all these months is frustrating.

I think the majority of users do not expect an update first Monday of every month it just happens in the background. People unlock their phone to have a message requiring restart for an update to be applied and think nothing more of it.

Probably there was a vulnerability found in the Samsung security patches

Google found a P6 kernel vulnerability and it needs to be fixed before our P6 series phones get the update. So good for Google.

Seems to me current models (flagships?) should get the best and brightest first. Not selling my phone, but Google is really harshing my pixel buzz. Hard to recommend to others.

I know 2 people who didn't buy a pixel 6 based on my recommendation. It just isn't a device I can recommend in good conscience.

Probably delayed for the best. With the crazy number of fixes it has and how previously patches have raised new issues, delaying it to make sure everything is right will be better for the end user.

The number of fixes they're implementing in this patch is huge: https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/153884074/google-pixel-update-march-2022?hl=en

They've taken on a massive bug list! Let's hope they can pull it off.
They even added a feature to access the calendar from the at a glance widget, there's a nice bonus.

I'm running the 12L beta now, and it actually seems more stable than the "stable" software lol.

Haven't had any new bugs, and a couple I had since launch have been fixed. It's weird.
