Do u think the Google pixel will be a success?

Hard to say.

If you determine success as selling X million number of units, then no, I don't expect that to be the case. I don't think Google expects that to be the case either.

Right now Google are trying to build their smartphone brand. They're starting from scratch so sales will be modest. I think right now Google are just aiming for exposure and to have the word 'Pixel' in the conversation alongside 'iPhone' and 'Samsung' when a customer is looking for a new phone. If they manage to get that along with high customer satisfaction and customer retention, then I'd consider that a success.

It won't sell as well as iPhone or other Android phones if that's what you're asking.

Besides Verizon, the phone isn't in stores, that alone will significantly reduce how many sales they might make.

True but remember iPhone started out with only Cingular. Having said that I don't believe Pixel has a chance competing with iPhone, hopefully it becomes a strong brand of Android.

Well the specifications of Pixel are really top of the line. And the software is from Google itself. That says it all. Although first couple of Nexus wasn't upto the mark, later ones surely had everyone's attention. If that says something Pixel phones are going to rock. But the high price of the phones make me dought that. Then again it never effected the iPhone or Samsung flagship buyers.

Given the price, the present reach will not be massive, but in the years to come, with the success of the brand, the future of Pixel phones will be larger than that of apple brand.

Absolutely, I don't see the reason why they won't success. In fact, with the heavy advertising of the products, I believe Pixel will slowly blend into the consumer market. While the initial sell won't beat Samsung nor Apple, there is high chance they would be one of the top contender in the smartphone market.

I think so.

It obviously won't sell as much as the iPhone 7 or a Galaxy S7 but I think it will do very well in establishing the Pixel brand as a clear alternative and set up future generations for increasingly larger sales.

I also believe that the whole Note 7 fiasco will help sell quite a few more units, at least until the S8 comes out.

I think it will be a Success... After Samsung Note 7 fiasco People will lean towards Google, HTC and LG.

It will definitely do at least reasonably well as the blue edition sold out in less than 5 minutes on both phones.

Yes. Totally. That phone is a beast and after more reviews come about it when it releases many more will join the Pixel lineup. That phone is absolutely outstanding.

i think it will gain steam pretty quick, especially with all its new and proprietary features. can't wait to actually play with one

I think the name change could throw people off a little at first, honestly. Other than that, being made by HTC and powered by Google, you can't ask for a whole lot better, in my opinion.

Of coarse Google won't sell as well.. Right now. It takes time to introduce a new brand. About the price, people will perceive this high end because it's priced in line with iPhone and galaxy. Any less and people may think it's less quality. Yes price may be a problem for some, but if that's the case, they won't be buying ANY of the higher priced phones. 99% of people don't now the nexus history

I think its going to be the start of a new era where Google plays a big, direct role in the smartphone business and will try to go toe to toe with Apple in regards to fusion of software and hardware and the way it unveils and markets its devices. I also think the whole Samsung Note 7 fiasco is going to really help drive sales of the Pixel, it honestly could not have come at a better time for google...

We'll see what happens!

You mean the price that is fully aligned with every other flagship phone? If price really meant that much...the best selling phone would be OnePlus. I can't honestly say I've never seen one in the wild.

This phone will not reach the masses for the simple reason that it's not being sold in any store besides Verizon. If Google is serious about this phone being a commercial success and "Google Phone" or "Pixel" being a household name, they need to do away with carrier exclusivity.

I was thinking the same. I was hoping that the Pixel would take a similar path as the iPhone (no carrier-added crap), but with Verizon tacking on it's usual bloatware it wasn't meant to be.

Since when was a third of the United States not the masses? Verizon has roughly 110 million subscribers. The United States of America has roughly 320 million people. This phone just from Verizon has the chance to reach a TON of people. With Samsung getting some bad press, this will be a GREAT option for a ton of people just on Verizon alone.
