Do you care about having the latest release of Android OS?

Oh I know what it does. I just won't use it, and I doubt most other users will - other than the tech savvy. I think you're going to run into some non-techy people getting mad because their app doesn't work properly because they shut off some permissions.

Oh I think it will be a big thing, especially here. Of course all the Android sites will tell people what everything does if turned off.

The other big thing is being able to stop heads up notifications. They have already caused major headaches with many on Lollipop.

I still think it'll be more for the tech savvy, like this site on others like it. I like the idea, but I can foresee the headaches for some. And the head's up notifications don't bother me, but I understand they do to some people. On 5.1.1 you can just swipe them way.

And I'm not saying there aren't quality features in Marshmallow, just that to most users, the big things are already on Samsung phones.

If I keep my note 5 ,and they release M I will wait it out and see how people's experience is because I have experienced many times that the original software that came with the phone ran better than the upgraded software, at least that is my personal experience, and right now this note 5 is smooth as butter.

The swiping away the notifications isn't the issue, it is the privacy issue and then when someone goes nuts on Facebook and posts about 10 comments and it covers your map whole driving.

I've always been able to swipe then away.

I must not have that Facebook issue. I just meant I swipe up so they just disappear back into the notification bar. First World Problems, I guess...

Well they swipe away, but when driving out of town, it is more than a first world problem when they are covering your map and you ate trying to swipe away all if then and drive St the same time.

Also as I use my phone for work, many times there are things I need to show people on my phone and I don't want person messages popping up on the screen for them to read.

I used to really get worked up over that but not so much anymore. As long as the software that I have functions without issue I'm good.
This. I don't care at all any more. Unless there is some bug that can't be fixed without a OS update, I don't care much about OS updates any more...

Is a lot of ways the Note series has had more functionality than the Nexus line regardless of OS updates.

That depends.

If my current build of Android works well and the newer one is buggy, then no. I don't mind (Ask Note 4 users who stayed on KitKat before Lollipop 5.1.1 rolled out as the previous Lollipop build was really buggy)

On the other hand, if my current build of Android is buggy and the next release fixes all that, then yes.

All my phones currently are on LP, so I'm eagerly awaiting Marshmallow. I'm pretty sure that my custom ROM-rocking devices will get it first, followed by my G4 and then the G3.

Yes. I care because I like new things. And most of the new features are nice to play around with for a little while..... Until the next new feature comes out:)

I'll stop caring once I get Android M on my current phone which is the Galaxy S6, because it'll pretty much complete the last few things I was waiting for Android to get. With Samsung announcing monthly security and bug fixes and me been able to add features to my phone by downloading a third party app is pretty much all I needed. I think the Galaxy S6 plus Android M would pretty much complete what would make the perfect phone for me. Specially with carriers ditching contracts and having to pay full price for a phone in the future I think I'll be holding on to my phones a bit longer than I normally do.

ive had a few updates hose my phones in the past, i just assume keep what works well for me.

Do I care... Kind of a hard question to answer...

Do I like having my phone continue to get support on the latest and greatest Android OS? Yes, I like it...

Do I care enough about not having the latest and greatest to upgrade my phone prematurely? No... If the phone is still working for me, I really don't "care" if it's not on the latest and greatest...
