Do you carry your phone in your back pocket like a wallet?

Often in the back pocket but much less so as I've become dependent on the S3 Frontier for taking calls.

And my job doesn't involve labor which would put stress on the device.

Too tall for top pocket it tens to fall out I carry mine in a turtle back hokster.

Carry the Note 8 as I've done with all smart phones in a thin Spigen type case in a slim leather belt holster. NEVER in the back pocket and rarely in the front pocket. I run with the belt holster and since Im not on any social media like FB, I dont have to constantly check and double check for replies and posts. I saw this woman yesterday riding her road bike checking her phone. The folks who carry their phones, many and not all are constantly checking their FB or instagram pages. One reason why phones are constantly dropped or broken in the back pocket. YMMV. 😏

She's right. Holsters are never cool. Ever.

For me the opposite of cool is doing what the masses thinks is cool, you know, being a follower with no individual thought or fear of not being accepted.

With my holster I never have to take my phone out just to sit down, then leave it behind at the restaurant or on public transportation, I'll never sit on my phone by accident, it will never fasll out of my pocket, etc.

I've carried my phone in a holster since my early 20's. It's convenient and practical. I couldn't care less about what others think is cool, never did.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I've ALWAYS carried all my phones in a holster since I got my first cell phone 18 or 19 years ago. I couldn't care less what anyone thinks of it. I've never busted or left behind or lost a phone in those 18 or 19 years, either.

Keep on putting pressure on that glass, I wouldn't be surprised if it stresses and fails and being a long piece of glass doesnt help. Especially at the curves.

Ever since the iPhone 6 there has been a lot of emphasis on the bendability of phones by the manufacturers. JerryRig on YouTube, among others, have conducted extensive testing of this sort and you'd have to be pretty heavy and sit down very hard onto a very non-forgiving surface to bend most modern smartphones. The Note 8 is extremely solid in this aspect. I now carry most of my phones in my back pocket and even sit on them a lot of the time with zero issues.

I'm glad you enjoy your holster, I'm just not a fan.

I've never used one and I have never had to take my phone out just to sit down, or left it behind at the restaurant or on public transportation, I've never sit on my phone by accident, it has never fallen out of my pocket, etc.

Only girls carry their phone in the back pocket.

Since I'm a guy (tough one at that) I naturally carry it in my front pocket or a holster if the case I'm rocking comes with it.

Yea, at work I work with a lot of younger people and women and girls carry them in their back pockets a lot.

hey, gives us guys an excuse to look! Just wanting to see what phone they're carrying :)

I never use the dumb holsters. Tried once and the whole holster and phone included keep coming loose from my belt.

Oh of course... Purely for statistical reasons right

One thing I notice is many younger women under 40, but especially under 25 love the iPhones but many have the standard size.

Men of all ages I see using android devices a lot more than iPhones.

Even the youtube reviewers iPhones have a lot more girls reviewing them versus Android where you got guys like The Android Guy, tech geeks.

Are a lot of young women just buying the standard iPhone so they can send text messages and take selfies posted to Instagram?

Not trying to Stereotype, but that is just my observations from every day life and youtube as well as XDA forums and on here. It seems to be a larger number of guys on android device forums.

The only selfies I've ever taken are to post for profile pics like facebook or occasional pic on a dating site. I don't see the point of taking pics of yourself to show everyone and I'm only 33.

I share many of the same observations hence my tongue in cheek response earlier.

It took me looking at many a young woman to be sure but I did all in the name of science.

Completely joking for the broken sarcasm meters.

This data is from 2013; I wonder if it still holds true?

I carry mine in my back pocket, I had a seasonal job the last 2 winters and I worked outside so no where to keep my purse so started carrying mine in my pocket

I am using this great holster for my Spigen NeoHybid Crystal case. This holster rotates so you can keep the phone vertical when walking and horizontal when sitting. The phone's screen faces inward against a soft lining and is protected from being scratched. The holster firmly attaches to a belt with almost no chance of it accidentally coming off. The phone goes in out easier than from any trouser pocket and is a lot safer than in a shirt pocket. I do recognize that I might like like a nerd, but being a nerd is finally getting to be fashionable, I think.

Back pocket screen has to face buttocks for added security. I try to take it our before sitting every time.

I'd like some pants with hidden cellphone pockets.
