Here is a typical review. Notice that none of these problems would happen on an "old fashioned" corded headset.
"I bought these to replace my two-year old Bluebuds about 6 months ago. I used those headphones heavily (1.5 to 8 hours per day nearly every single day). They were mostly solid, but would cut out depending on the location of my phone.
They finally died so I got the X3. They were probably 70% as useful, the app and ability to modify the EQ was cool, dual-pairing isn’t as useful as you’d think it is, and these cut out quite a bit more. They also lose a connection completely for seemingly no reason fairly often. I did appreciate the effort to make them even more sweat proof (I use them in the gym every day) but the extra dongle for charging was extremely annoying to keep track of and I almost lost it once. It is a $10 charge for a new accessory kit to replace it.
The nail in the coffin was about a month ago they refused to turn on despite having been fully charged and used earlier that morning. I am not able to ‘reset’ them as they often recommend. I have tried everything, charging them for a full day and turning them on again, leaving them to hopefully die over the course of a few weeks, charging again, nothing. I am fairly careful with these and my old ones lasted ~2 years with what was probably heavier usage. It seems a lot of other users are having this issue.
I touted these to friends and bought a pair for my girlfriend, but unfortunately I am now done with Jaybird products."
