Do you still recommend the Pixel 2?

Kind of. The only thing is I get pretty bad black crushing watching videos at night and even taking photos at night. I can see the blacks and dark colours just blotching. To the point where sometimes I feel like getting rid of the phone lol.

I can't recommend a glass screen protector but the case I'm currently using is the Incipio DualPro. I think it offers good protection similar to the Spigen cases. The reason why I purchased it was because the sides of the case are rounded unlike Spigen which are angular. I thought this would allow me to grip the case far easier while also being more comfortable.

It is expensive thought and almost twice, if not three times the price of the Spigens.

Did you specifically compare the DualPro to the Spigen Neo Hybrid since they look to have similar designs? Not seen either in person but they look the same in pictures or videos but maybe there’s differences.

Is your DualPro grippy but easily slides in and out of jeans? Be nice to know DualPro vs Neo Hybrid which has the slimmer profile.

So coming off of using an iPhone X for a month I can safely say the Pixel has it beat in 2 of 5 categories. I actually did a comparison on iMore and I chose the iPhone as the winner, but the Camera and battery are two HUGE factors for me and the Pixel offers better of both. I have been astounded how much the camera has improved on this thing in 3 weeks.

I'm going to end up keeping the X. I agree about the camera, Pixel is better. iPhone seem like it blows out the highlights. However, battery life on 2 XL and iPhone X seems about the same to me.

How does the iPhone X fare in the competition of having a home button?

You guys sold me on the Pixel 2 I picked one a few minutes ago can’t wait to get it.

Now to pickup a case or two to try out. Has anyone tried the Spigen Neo Hybrid or Spigen Rugged Armour case? Then there’s the Spigen Crystal too... I’m looking for a case that has good protection, but thin and grippy.

Can anyone recommend a tempered glass screen protector?
You ordered it? Do you have an estimated arrival time?

Yes would easily recommend it.

I'd definitely recommend it for people who are moving from iOS to android. I'd say the Pixel 2/2XL are the best android phones on the market and most suitable to most people out there. It does everything exceptionally well.

@1countryboy I just got the Spigen Crystal and the Ringke Fusion today, for a phone I'm expecting to receive tomorrow. The Spigen seems nice but I can't make a determination until I have the phone. The Ringke seems odd (maybe the "Fusion" part in play here) the back is a hard plastic while the "bumper" part is TPU.

I’m kind of sold on these dual layer types I like the extra protection. Been using a OtterBox Commuter on my old Droid my main complaint was it a little thick & heavy.

Well I didn't compare to the Neo Hybrid but the Slim Armor. However I did have the Neo on my S8 and it was more slippery compared to the DualPro I currently have on my Pixel 2.

Out of the two I'd say the Neo would slide better in and out of jean pockets due to the plastic bumper going round the case.

Grip however I'd have to give to the DualPro, its soft touch rubberised back does make a difference. The herringbone design on the back of the Neo offers no grip at all and is definitely slippery.

Overall the Neo will be better for getting out of your pocket easily and but for grip and protection I'd go for DualPro. The Neo is also thinner than DualPro, it is a chunky case the Dual.

Don’t know if you’re familiar with the OtterBox Commuter (on my Droid Turbo) but if you are is the DualPro as thick & heavy which I’ve begun to dislike?

I am not familiar I'm afraid but the Dual does have a dense quality about it which it makes it heavier then a Spigen, this is what I think.

Thanks see there’s several colors to pick from did you happen to get black or gunmetal? My phone is black so just wondering.

Ringke fusion is not dual layer... The back is hard plastic integrated into a soft bumper

Well surprise, surprise I got my phone yesterday several days early! I’ll have some early opinions of it in a day or two and I’m sure plenty of questions.

I did get the Neo Hybrid case I had ordered but still not the Incipio Dualpro. The Neo is an ok case but not quite enough protection for me I’m hoping the Dualpro will provide more.

Ok I’ve already got some questions:

1. The power cord that comes with the Pixel 2 is too short. In the past for other Android phones I’ve picked up one of these USB Extenders https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU6123587
Since they won’t work with the Pixel cable what do I need to extend the power cable to about one meter?

2. I had custom ringtones and music on my old Droid Turbo how to I get them transferred to the Pixel 2?

3. I really liked the default email app that came on my Droid, it was basic but had banner notifications (showed number of new emails on app) which not all do. It also rendered all photos that came via email as full pictures automatically without any interaction. Some email apps make you tap to download and/or don’t render full screen. Looking for something similar... what are you all using?

The charging cord that came with my 2 XL is one meter in length. I bought this USB-C cable 2 pack which has a 1 meter and a 2 meter cord. I use the 2 meter cord for charging in the house and the 1 meter cord I use with my vehicle charger.

Nice heavy duty quality.

You can use the patch cord/adapter thingy that came with the phone and the Pixel 2 file transfer utility or you could download the ringtone folder and the notification folder to a PC and then copy the files to your Pixel 2 ringtone and notification folders.

Blue Mail should be able to do this. I've got it and keep getting pleasantly surprised by what it can do. I know it shows numbers of new emails in the banner. Not sure about the displaying of full images though. Blue Mail has a nice user interface and loads of options.
