Do you think 512MB of ram is an issue?

I think a lot of people are missing the point that owning smartphones is almost as much a hobby to some peple as it is an experience. Sure 512 mb of RAM will be plenty to run a smooth OS experience, but dropping 600 dollars on the new and latest deviuce is just so meh when AT&T carriers are walking around with somehting that is twice as large.

I own the Droid X rooted running Gummyjar and overclocked to 1.3 Mhz. it is blazing fast, and my 3g constantly gets about 1.2 mbs download speeds. Needless to say it is quite adequate for many years to come. But I will not keep it because i am a geek. I like buying the latest device, its a hobby, a sport of the electronic kind. So people like me the 512 RAM is a huge letdown when the Atrix already has 1 gig. My reaction? Maybe wait untill the next device late in the year which i garantee will have 1 gig to compete with atrix before dropping the 600 on a new device.

The Accessories are awesome and a huge bonus. I bought the accessory pack with my droid x and it has become more complete of an experience as a high end device really.

so true!

:O ooh look what I found same convo I just finished on TB thread lol.

Yes DB has 512mb ddr2 ram where TB has 768mb ddr, but since DB is using ddr2 at higher bus speed at same time actually using less power than ddr because the internal clock runs at half the speed of the data bus. Now keep in mind I know if anyone here understand how memory is allocated you will bring up case latency issue. B what you have to understand is yes ddr2 does have higher CL but since ddr2 runs at double external data bus clock rate as ddr it can provide twice the bandwidth at the same latency thus improvement over ddr.

Nope it is split 512 for phone & the other 512 will be add for desk tip gadget
