Do you think Samsung is in the wrong to have not told us the S5 only has one radio vs two?

Sadly I am afraid this means I can't use Navigation and be able to receive phone calls or texts. It's my business phone, paid by my employer, so that lessens the sting. I don't know what Spring was thinking.

From Sprint: "Sprint Spark devices leverage eCSFB technology (enhanced Circuit Switch Fall Back) which enables single radio functionality in the handset. This allows Sprint to leverage the many benefits of Network Vision, including the ability to utilize multiple CDMA and LTE spectrum bands efficiently. Although, simultaneous voice and LTE is not supported on new Sprint Spark devices, it does provide improved coverage, quality of voice and data service, as well as improved battery performance."-Statement from Sprint

That sucks!! More reason for me to finally leave Sprint this year.

I so would if I could, I mean....this is my business phone paid by my employer, I have had the same number for a decade, I don't want two phones and if I switch the cost would all fall on me and who needs that.

I'm just ticked because they take away something to make some improvement that other carriers don't have to do. It's just weird and frustrating

No I understand that. BUT, my fear is that using navigation I won't know that my office is trying to call me, I can pull over and or stop at the next gas station etc and know I need to call them. THAT'S a HUGE issue.

Why wouldnt you know? The calls still override navigation! Ive never missed a call while navigating!

SENT FROM MY LG G-FLEX ON SPRINT........LIFE IS GOOD✌

That's comforting I suppose...except for the fact you may miss an exit lol

I use navigation all the time, when a call comes in it suspends Navigation and then when i hang up navigation is running! No inconvenience at all!

That sounds inconvenient lol. If navigation suspends how am I supposed to talk on a call and still be told where to go by my GPS?

You don't lol. You make it a REAL quick phone call. SIgh....really Sprint?

Another thing is you can't make/receive calls while on LTE on Sprint S5 :/ :'( BS!!!

Ummmm no, I do that every day out in the field, I am in Dallas and I go to various warehouses etc, and I have to make multiple calls, and I am on LTE.

That would be a nightmare if true,

and then there is AT&T vying for that spot daily

I'm convinced they all suck for various reasons. I switched from Verizon to ATT about 10 yrs ago because it seemed I got stuck with their worst customer service reps. ATT hasn't been near as bad for me. I'm guessing each carrier sucks equally for all of us depending on what part of the universe we live in.

Was reading a sprint thread and the sprint moderator Said due to hardware restrictions on the S5 you can't talk and use the Internet at the same time and we never will be. I feel like they should have disclosed this.

I'm on AT&T and I just finished talking and surfing at the same time. You definitely need to rid yourself of Sprint.

Trust me, I am no fan of Sprint, my employer pays the bill, so at least I am not the sucker paying for this miserable service.

I just want to know if at some time this will be addressed .

It will take years for this to be resolved and by that time ATT and Verizon will be on 5G lol.

I don't suppose your employer gives a rat behind about how Sprint works on your phone?

Personally, I use a dedicated GPS as it is much better at what it does, and I don't have to worry about it interfering with my phone calls.

Are the blue Bonnets still in bloom?

I had a gs4 on Sprint, and had a decent experience. Got the new HTC One M8 and experienced the worst service ever, and terrible battery life. I paid the 240 I owed to break a contract, and now I'm on AT&T with a GS5. Battery life is doubled due to signal strength improvements, and simultaneous voice/data is back. Unlimited data isn't worth the hassle that Sprint gave me.

You cannot use LTE and voice at the same time if you have a Spark enabled phone from sprint. That is the reason why the phones always default back to 3g, because voice is a priority over data. I spent two days on the phone with sprint after purchasing my GS5 and then they finally told me that. Once they spilled the beans they allowed my to break both contract without batting an eye. There only solution was to only use WiFi on my gs5!!!! What a joke!!! So happy I'm rid of them now..

My GS3 worked fine on sprint, Lte worked fine and everything else. It's only when you make the move to one of there newer spark enabled phones that [inappropriate language removed by moderators]..

Voice will take precedence over data. So when you get a call, data would be suspended. Data would resume when the call is over.

Also for me, I don't use it very often but sometimes my parents will call me and ask me to look up something for them.

Or when am calling customer service, sometimes they will tell you to look at a certain website or check your email, it is nice to verify that the information is correct before hanging up.

When buying, they sometimes ask you for a code that was emailed to you.
It is not a deal breaker for me but certainly nice to have.

Hence my motto......better to have and not need than to need and not have! :)

An incoming call will suspend data flow, allowing you to receive the call, and at the end of that call data flow will resume. In the specific case of GPS/navigation, if your navigation app can locally store the map route information, the only thing you'll lose out on during the call will be 'active' information such as traffic rerouting should you miss a turn.
