Do you think Verizon is dropping the ball?

I hate Apple >>> snipp <<< Stupid phone that is over marketed

I agree, to put all your eggs in one basket and ignore the other chicks is rude and ungrateful of any supplier/retailer/whatever. If people really want the iPhone that's what they're going to buy regardless of what else is for/on sale. If they're so worried that another product is going to take over the spotlight or take away from iPhone sales if they make them available at the same time ... maybe they should rethink the true value of the iPhone. I'm not impressed and as a customer who doesn't want the iPhone and wouldn't touch it with a 10ft pole, I'm offended at being thought so unimportant that the products I would like to buy are being delayed so the iPhone can be glorious.

the only way i see this in a good way. let verizon make all that iphone money an invest it to 4g speeds an coverage so we are the winners in the long run lol

the t bolt is taking forever, now this day will take even longer waiting for the super bowl an the ad lol. always waiting

Verizon never picked the ball up, so how could they drop it? I'm with others here that this launch has been botched since January 6th. I was fine with not knowing a release date then, but since then the EVO Shift and a few other phones have had their release dates and pricing announced.

Way back when, Mobile Panda tweeted a hint that this phone would be out around St Patricks Day. VZW then tweeted that it might be sooner than expected. "Expected" right now, officially is late Q1-early Q2 and I'm not even sure that that's been acknowledged "officially". So how can you move up a release date that hasn't been set?

FFS Verizon, just tell us that the phone will be $249, Data will be $29.99, and set a release date of March 1. Or April 1. Or November 1. If things go right and it's ready for release on February 24th, then release it.

Someone somewhere knows something. It doesn't give me a lot of confidence in Verizon. A billion dollar corporation can't give a release date for a phone that (by all accounts) is coming out within a month? This, after the botched DX update and the Fascinate circus has be seriously considering paying my ETF and moving on.

^ This. I found the VZW Tweet to be pretty weird. They indicated it'd be out sooner than we expected (but what does that mean?). I think it shows they aren't very in touch with what their folks thing is a) "soon" and b) earlier than expected.

It would be interesting to be a fly in the wall on some of the product folks cubes to understand all the nuances of why this release date is so hard to pin down.

I wish. It just shows me their customers are not at the top of their list. I am sick of hearing we have no information bull****. They tested the iPhone for a year. The fact is the information is their they just don't share it with us. I would much rather hear the truth, we are waiting on xyz.
Than hear nothing. They expect us to put a deposit down on a car we never drove and don't know the price. The problem is some will do it and I am one of then so oops.

iPhone got a year, this got a long time too. I actually got to user acceptance test the phone in Pittsburgh in the Fall. It had no signs of LTE on it at the time. Got to test it along with a Continuum before that was released as well. This phone easily had to be in test close to a year as well.

I would love to test phones how did you get into that.

It was random, I was visiting a friend out in the area and he got an invitation to go, so I attended with him.

I"ll be 100% honest with you. As a VZW employee we really have no information before you guys do. I didn't know the iPhone was coming out before anyone and I doubt I'll know info on any 4G phones prior to launch. It used to be easier to find out pre-release info on devices but the last year an a half the information is hard to come by. I'm not looking so I can leak info because I value my job and don't want to get fired. I'm trying to find out for myself so I can figure out what phone I want. I hope some information is officially announced soon because I'm dying to get a Thunderbolt.

i kinda realized releases for verizon have been tight lipped on future devices. droid x was the last device that really was seen out in wild with videos an comparisons before verizon said anything. yea the bolt leaked but they wer random photos. an the only videos we have now are the ces, same things with bionic, lg revo. an samsung phone.

Because it has NEVER happened in the history of third party retailers for starters. The only "Exclusives" I have ever seen is a phone (that is very available at the corporate stores) in a different color.
the dispute...
So you're trying to tell me that because it has not happened before that it's not possible? That's asinine... It makes perfect sense to roll the TB out at BB while you're (verizon) is thinking strictly ipod at the moment. They don't lose money with subsidies and the contracts keep piling up. Makes sense to me..

No it doesn't because this is their first 4g device.

It is "possible" that VZW would let a 3rd party retailer release a phone before VZW does...but it is HIGHLY unlikely it will ever happen, and If it does EVER happen it certainty wont be with "VERIZON'S FIRST LTE 4G PHONE!"

*and its an iPHONE not an iPod ;)

LMAO ATT starts the super bowl with an add towards verizon non sim voice data. everyone enjoy the game. i hope we will have news to chat about afterwards

I haven't seen them on any lists, but a lot of those lists are not final so who knows. We'll definitely be seeing a Xoom ad, though.

It's just an ipod that you can talk on. Refuse to call it by it's name. ;) Im just saying nothing about this release has been normal, so I don't see it as something that will never happen. Just saying..
