comeing from the 4 inch fascinate this will be pretty big, but i wont know if its too big to be a deal breaker till its in my hands. ill preorder still and retun if i dont like it.

Maybe for you. You are still ignoring height. The phones huge, period.

yes, for me and majority who are getting this phone. I purposely ignored the height, because I didn't think that it'll matter when holding a phone. If that matters you, then yea Razr seems like a fine choice.

Admittedly, the Nexus is big, but considering its screen size compared to the Razr, Nexus's size seems justified, while Razr being only 4.3" isn't that much smaller than the Nexus. The Razr isn't exactly a small phone either. If you're comparing the Nexus with the iPhone, I see your point, but not with the Razr.

If Razr's size is your thing, then sure go ahead with it, no one's forcing you to get the Nexus, its Android we're talking about, there are plenty of choice out there.

I've owned a D1, D2, optimus S (company phone), Nexus S for about a week (company wouldn't put it on our shared plan) and a bunch of non android phones like palm pre's, all treos, etc. Never had anything bigger than a 3.7" inch screen activated on a line. I have used Droid X's etc. and like them, always wanted one, but never got around to upgrading. I am excited for the nexus. I am the guy that goes to work with a knife, 2 sets of car keys plus house keys, cigs+lighter, cell phone, surefire flashlight, wallet, PDR knockdowns in my back left pocket, sometimes skoal etc. My pockets get pretty full, especially with just jeans on and not cargos. With that said, I'm not worried. I was pretty irritated over the no gorilla glass because I have gotten in the habbit of tossing my keys in the same pocket as my phone and never had any problems. Plus sometimes I throw the E2DL defender flashlight in the wrong pocket, or the phone in my knife pocket etc without thinking. Those COULD be costly mistakes, depending on the type of "fortified" glass that's used. As long as I can get away with a holster or the glass doesn't scratch so easy that keys are a problem, I am all over this thing. Worse case scenario, I'll have to move stuff to different pockets and use a 300 foot range bluetooth at work since I work out of a pickup anyway.

I know you intentionally ignored the height, that's why I was pointing it out. I didn't say it was too big for me, I am just saying its huge, and that I'm disappointed with the fact that the while idea was on screen buttons would make fitting a larger screen in a smaller body possible. It obviously didn't. People were guessing they would be able to fit a 4.5+ screen into a body not much bigger than the Nexus S. Fail.

What a fabulous world we live in where a difference of .25" constitutes a "choice." :-\ That quarter inch of height probably will be negligible to most, so you're probably not remiss in ignoring it, but it doesn't solve the larger problem that both phones are too @#$% big.

I don't carry my phone in my pocket. I don't use 1 hand, I use 2 hands to use my phone, hence... this is a good size for me. Just like the razr would be a good size if I chose that one.

It's all good. :)

Heh, I know right, but I personally like big screened phones, and my hands aren't even big to begin with. Having a big screen just make the general using experience that much better. I've played with my friend's gs2 for just a couple hours, immediately I've fell in love with the screen size already.

I personally am happy that the 4.65" screen size from the rumors came true, otherwise I would be pretty upset, 4.65" sounds terrific just by saying it out, not 4.5, 4.3 or worst yet 4.0. I know a lot of people have been complaning about the screen size since the rumors days, too bad that just means the phone is not for you. :p

The thing is smartphones to me aren't just phone, its basically a palm sized PC, and the huge screen (relative to other phones) will definitely help giving a better user experience. I could be saying this too prematurely as I (and most of us) have not even had a hands on with it, but judging from my experience with the sg2, I'll most probably be very happy with it.

Here's an interesting story: I was working with a coworker and we he had to put her phone on speaker (iPhone 3G) while I had my SGSII right beside it. She looked at my phone and remarked how small her phone was compared to mine. She even commented on that the iPhone having one button was stupid. I told her she should wait until an ICS phone came out and that I thought she would be pleasantly surprised. She said she would.

I love bit screened phones too, and I would be happy with the screen size, and still might be, except for the crazy amount of bezel top and bottom. Screen size isn't really the problem here, its that they couldn't seem to fit it into what is currently considered a big size phone

The Galaxy Nexus (GN) and the 4.5" T-Mobile Galaxy SII have similar dimensions (in fact the GN is, by the tinniest amount, smaller in width-0.9mm and depth-0.5mm). So head on over to a T-Mobile or a CostCo store to see what the Galaxy SII looks like and it will be like holding the GN. I have and I don't find the SII too big at all. The GN is the perfect phone and with its 1280x720 res, it will destroy every phone out there. I plan to camp out on launch day. I loooooooove this phone.....

T-Mobile Samsung SII (hxwxd): 5.11 x 2.711 x 0.37 (129.8mm x 68.8mm x 9.44mm) weight 4.77ounces (135gr)
Galaxy Nexus (hxwxd): 5.33 x 2.675 x 0.352 (135.5mm x 67.94mm x 8.94mm) weight 4.77ounces (135gr)

The height is irrelevant when you are holding the phone. It is width that matters and the Galaxy Nexus is 0.9mm less wide and 0.5mm thinner than the 4.5" T-Mobile Galaxy SII.
And even in height (for when you put it in your pocket), it is only 0.22in (less than a quarter of an inch) taller than the 4.5" T-Mobile Galaxy SII.
So if you go to a T-Mobile store and hold the 4.5" Galaxy SII you will be holding the GN. I did and I find the size perfect.

People are forgetting that the GN screen res (1280x720) is putting laptop 15.6" HD screen resolution (1366x768) on your smartphone. That they are able to do it on a T-mobile 4.5" Galaxy SII size equivalent package is simply AMAZING!!!!! I looooove this phone and I'll be camping out on launch day to be the first in line to get it. I want it bad....
