Wow.... I now have 20 minutes of a family event that are practically worthless.

Did anyone at HTC test this device at all? We keep adding to the list of major blunders regarding the release of this device. I'm not saying that many aren't correctable but by the time they do, quad core devices will be released! :D

So now we've got internal memory "oversight", extremely poor battery life, kickstand facing wrong side of phone or USB port on wrong side just for starters.

Funny thing It seems to work better outside than inside. Im not sure why. Inside my playback volume level is horrible outside its still not great but it sure is better than inside.

This has been discussed on several other posts previously. I'm sure htc will address in a software update soon. It has to do with the mic not turning off noise cancellation when recording video like it does when turning on the speakerphone.

Do you think this could be a problem within voice calls as well? Ive noticed several times I'm having to repeat what I say to people while on the phone.

the only probleb i have is the volume issue, otherwise, this is a damn good phone.

I often wonder this as well. I think now days, early adopters are basically beta testers for devices like this. I think though that the basic functions of a smartphone, which include camera, and video recording should work properly out of the box. I also am not too happy about the hiss I still hear when on a phonecall even though I've exchanged phones and it goes away if I put hearing aid mode on.

I've noticed the phone call quality being sub-par as well. Kinda dissapointing for a me being that I waited so long for the TB. Aside from the battery life issues (which surprisingly after doing a bump charge yesterday- my phone has lasted an entire workday and a few evening hours on a single charge), this phone is pretty dope. Of course this is my first touch screen/android device coming from a BB curve (I know..you can laugh). Being a noob to the droid world, Im liking it thus far.

It's funny that some people and reviewers state it has stellar call quality, but IMO it's not even close to what my iphone 4 was or my dinc even. Wierd.

i have had tons of phones and this is by far the best one.

better than the iphone also

I checked over at the HTC website, they have a forum for every phone they make and someone there created a thread about this and cited multiple sites and forums that have lists of people like us who are having this problem, so hopefully HTC will see it and do something (im pretty sure they will, they have a good rep about keeping their phones updated)

Hey, Yea I created that topic on HTC's site. however it doesnt seem like they even moderate it. HTC is being so quite on this issue, its safe to say that atleast 60% of the phones are affected. Great business practice HTC...

Best call quality i have ever had in a phone. Crystal clear on both ends.

Is anyone having NORMAL audio play back? If some devices are working properly, then how could this be a software issue? Wouldn't it affect 100% of the phones?

Good call. I suspect that they arnt actually working as normal, atleast I hope not. I know many of us including my self have personally tried 3 other thunderbolts all with this same issue. If "some" work I will be calling verizon and demanding a new phone.... or I might be going back to the droid 1 until the bionic comes out. I'm sick of trying to get info out of htc.

just tried my wife's, same issue.

i think they are all bad. People have a different understanding what is good
and what is bad

the ones that say it is no, no offense, might not know any better

just tried voice recording, not the loudest, but better.

That is actually pretty good.
Now I am wondering if its a hardware issue

Thanks for your post

How come yours says mp4?

Mine come out as 3gp even on 720p setting.

Maybe that is the problem.

It's not just video -- I have to practically yell for voice commands. :(

Same here. Bummer. Got volume but its way low. Crap. Watching that dog video that a guy posted, there's no way I'd get that audio I don't think...it'd be much quieter. Unless...hmm...maybe its playback volume on the phone is quiet...but the actual levels are higher when exported. I'll test that.

But, I agree that I have to definitely speak up to to Voice commands.

This is my first android phone so I'm not sure how quickly these things get acknowledged and fixed...if ever. :(
