Downgrade to KitKat?

So I have an ASUS MeMO Pad 7 K01A (ME70C).

I recently updated to Lollipop, and boy did I regret that.
The animations are choppy, battery life is terrible, storage space is low, and the notifications center is glitchy.

I tried using the KitKat recovery image to downgrade, but the bootloader was updated along with Android L.. And if things couldn't get any worse, the bootloader doesn't recognize any fastboot commands. It's always: 'ERROR: UNKNOWN COMMAND.'

I'm stuck at this point, and ASUS says it's 'impossible' to downgrade. (Pssh...)

If anyone can help, that would be great

Hi and Welcome to AC! Thanks for registering.

Unfortunately Asus may be correct. If the anti-rollback was upgraded, going back may not be possible.

Dang.. Might go buy a Samsung then.. Can't deal with Lollipop on a 1GB RAM device..

If you're on AT&T or Verizon, stay away from Samsung - the bootloader isn't just locked, it's welded shut.

I don't really care to unlock the bootloader, as long as the device is fast and functional, there isn't any reason.
